亚博客户端采用百度引擎2(Baidu 4)(Photo by Matthias Clamer/FX)When Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi brought What We Do in the Shadows to theaters in 2014, it posed a simple-ish question: What if a group of centuries-old vampires decided to live together in an apartment in Wellington, New Zealand, and allowed themselves to be filmed for a documentary? The concept of mixing familiar horror genre tropes with modern-day comedic sensibilities and a mockumentary format was a win-win combination for the duo, and four years later, the story was retold – episodically and with its location shifted to Staten Island, New York – on FX.The 10-episode first season introduced audiences to a new gang of vampires, including Kayvan Novak as house leader, Nandor, Matt Berry and Natasia Demetriou as married vampire couple Laszlo and Nadja, Mark Proksch as the wildcard energy vampire Colin Robinson, and Harvey Guillen as Nandor s human familiar, Guillermo. In its season one finale, What We Do in the Shadows dropped a huge cliffhanger: After pining for the goal of one day being able to live a glamorous undead life — akin to Antonio Banderas s 500-year-old vampire Armand from Anne Rice s Interview With the Vampire — Guillermo, the unappreciated human in a house full of vampires, was dealt a huge blow when he learned he is distantly related to notorious vampire hunter, Abraham Van Helsing. How will Guillermo and his mons

Today s Ketchup brings you another set of headlines from the world of film development news, covering movies with new roles for Richard Madden, Jessica Chastain, Michael Rooker, Elisabeth Moss, and more. This WEEK S TOP STORYMARVEL S YONDU May SNAP HIS TEETH INTO THE SUICIDE SQUAD AS KING SHARK(Photo by @ Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures)Ever since Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn signed on to direct Warner Bros. and DC Comics The Suicide Squad, there have been rumblings that at least one of his Marvel stars would join him. For a while, there was word that might be Dave Bautista as Peacemaker, until recent news that the role will likely go to fellow professional wrestler John Cena instead. Today, we learned that James Gunn still might reunite with one of his Guardians stars, with Michael Rooker now in talks to play the monstrous villain, King Shark. If you re a fan of TV s The Flash, you might recall that King Shark has had some pretty cool scenes on that show. The Suicide Squad cast will also include Idris Elba, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Warner Bros. has scheduled The Suicide Squad for August 6, 2021. Gunn is expected to return to Marvel Studios for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after he wraps on the DC flick, suggesting a Guardians release date no sooner than 2022.Fresh Developments1. GAME OF THRONES, Bodyguard FAVORITE JOINS MARVEL S THE ETERNALS (Photo by Tony Gonzalez/Everett Collection)We re now within 10 days of the end of HBO s Game of Thrones, so we re in the midst of a wave of new roles for those many actors. The biggest story for a Game of Thrones favorite this week however was for someone whose last episode was nearly six years ago. Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark, the onetime King in the North, is now in talks with Marvel Studios about starring in The Eternals. If he signs on, Madden would be playing Ikaris, who, in the comics, has been a leader of the Eternals in the past. Angelina Jolie is also starring in The Eternals as Sersi (a long-running member of the Avengers in the late 1980s and early 1990s). Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick, HBO s Silicon Valley) and South Korea s Ma Dong-Seok are also attached to play unknown characters. There have also been reports that Marvel is looking to cast an openly gay Asian actor, but that role appears to have not yet been cast. The Eternals will be directed by Chloe Zhao (The Rider, Songs My Brothers Taught Me), whose two films to date both have Tomatometer scores above 90%. There is no official release date for The Eternals yet, but if the filming start dates align with the Marvel s put out, it might be November 6, 2020 (after Black Widow, which might come out May 1, 2020).2. DISNEY SCHEDULES NEW STAR WARS MOVIES FOR 2022, 2024, AND 2026 (Photo by @ Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures)Every once in a while, a massive story will come out which is actually several all rolled into one. This week, Disney announced dozens of release dates (or changes), including some pretty seismic revelations. Last September, we heard that Disney planned on slowing down the release of their Star Wars franchise, and we now officially know that there will be a three year gap after this December s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Then, starting with December 16, 2022, there will be Star Wars movies every two years; the next two will arrive in theaters on December 20, 2024 and December 18, 2026. What we don t know is what these Star Wars movies actually are. It s known that Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) has plans for a new Star Wars trilogy. Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are also developing a trilogy which is rumored to be set in the Old Republic period most seen to date in various video games. (You can check out a breakdown of five places we think the Star Wars franchise can go in the 2020s here.) We think that some of the release date changes are Rotten Ideas, so please continue to that section to read more.3. BLACK PANTHER’s CHADWICK BOSEMAN TO SLASH AGAIN AS SAMURAI YASUKE (Photo by JA/Everett Collection)Chadwick Boseman has starred in a few movies now where he was a first. Boseman played baseball groundbreaker Jackie Robinson in 42, he played Thurgood Marshall (the first African American Supreme Court Justice) in Marshall, and of course, Black Panther was a significant first. This week, Boseman signed on for another first in the historical drama Yasuke, in which he will portray the first African samurai in Japan. The historical Yasuke was a Portuguese retainer of Mozambique heritage who was brought to Japan as a slave in the 16th century, making him the first black man to set foot on Japanese soil, [as] Yasuke’s arrival aroused the interest of Nobunaga, a ruthless warlord seeking to unite the fractured country under his banner. It s not yet known who will be directing Yasuke.4. Jane Campion is Back, with Doctor Strange and a Handmaid in Tow(Photo by ©Apparition/courtesy Everett Collection)Marvel Studios has tapped so many top stars (and helped others become stars) that a bunch of new films feature those names. Acclaimed New Zealand director Jane Campion (The Piano) hasn t directed a feature film in 10 years (2009 s Bright Star), and she is now preparing to direct The Power of the Dog, an adaptation of the 1967 novel by Thomas Savage. For this film, Campion has cast Benedict Cumberbatch (Marvel s Doctor Strange) and Elisabeth Moss of the acclaimed Hulu series The Handmaid s Tale. Like 1994 s Legends of the Fall, The Power of the Dog is a story of ranchers in Montana, with Cumberbatch playing a wealthy Montana rancher who engages in a relentless war against his brother s son from a secret marriage to a local widow (played by Moss). The brother and son characters have yet to be cast.5. IT: CHAPTER TWO STAR JESSICA CHASTAIN TO PUT ON THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE (Photo by Kerry Hayes/ © EuropaCorp USA /Courtesy Everett Collection)Nearly 20 years before acclaimed celebrity documentaries like Won t You Be My Neighbor? and RBG, one of the most successful early documentaries in that style was 2001 s The Eyes of Tammy Faye, about televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker. Fox Searchlight is preparing to produce a dramatic biopic about Tammy and husband Jim, to also be titled The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Attached so far are Jessica Chastain (IT: Chapter Two, Dark Phoenix) and Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spider-Man). Director Michael Showalter (The Big Sick) will be working from a screenplay adapted from the documentary.  There s no word yet about which makeup artist will be hired to work on The Eyes of Tammy Faye, but whomever it is might automatically be in the running for a Hair and Makeup Oscar.6. CHRIS HEMSWORTH AND TIFFANY HADDISH TEAMING UP FOR BUDDY COP COMEDY (Photo by @ Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, @ Universal)Chris Hemsworth is proving himself a master at comedic chemistry – witness the splendor of  Lebowski Thor – and a great foil to a strong female co-star (he will be back on screen with Ragnarok co-star Tessa Thompson in Men in Black: International this summer). The latest female star to sign on to test Hemsworth’s on-screen charisma and comedic chops is Tiffany Haddish, whose career has been blowing up ever since 2017 s Girls Trip. Haddish and Hemsworth will costar together in the buddy cop comedy Down Under Cover, with Haddish playing a cop who teams up with an undercover male stripper police detective.#7. Dark Knight Writer David S. Goyer Rebooting HellraiserJoel MearesBack in the early 2000s, Spyglass Entertainment was a prolific production company which provided Disney s Touchstone with many of its hits, including The Count of Monte Cristo, Shanghai Noon, and 1999 s The Sixth Sense. Spyglass is back in business again as an independent company called the Spyglass Media Group and in the market for new franchises. Their first major project was announced this week: a reboot of the prolific horror series Hellraiser, featuring the erotic horrors of Pinhead and his Cenobite collaborators. When Hellraiser came out over 30 years ago in 1987, there was nothing like it, but since then, movies like Saw and Hostel have made the torture porn horror subgenre almost ubiquitous. Hellraiser is poised to make a big return, and the job of adapting Hellraiser for a new generation is going to David S. Goyer, the screenwriter behind comic book adaptations like Blade, The Dark Knight, and Man of Steel, and this year s Terminator: Dark Fate. It s not yet known exactly how Goyer will reboot Hellraiser.Rotten Ideas2. DISNEY S MASSIVE RELEASE DATE DUMP REVEALS VAST CHANGES(Photo by @ Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures)Pretty much every week, there are new release dates or changes for upcoming movies, but usually it s only for a handful of films. This week, Disney announced such a massive slate of new dates and changes that it s had sort of a tsunami-like impact on the calendar. Disney recently finalized its acquisition of Fox s film properties, and part of its ongoing plan is to slow Fox releases down to 5-6 films a year (cut in half from 12 in 2018). Many Fox films are therefore being delayed or outright canceled. For example, The New Mutants (the last Fox/Marvel movie before Marvel Studios takes over the X-Men and Fantastic Four) was originally scheduled for 2018, and now it s not scheduled to come out until April 3, 2020. Harrison Ford s Call of the Wild (February 21, 2020) is one of the other films pushed back into 2020, as is the long-in-development YA novel adaptation Artemis Fowl (May 29, 2020), though that has always been a Disney movie. Dora and the Lost City of Gold has already swept in to take over Fowl’s original August 9, 2019, release date. Disney s slate is also significant for what it doesn t have, such as Fox s various Marvel movies, like Gambit (with Channing Tatum attached), and projects like X-Force, X-23, Kitty Pryde, and James Franco s Madrox the Multiple Man.1. AVATAR 2 PUSHED BACK TO 2021 (SEVEN YEARS AFTER ITS ORIGINAL 2014 RELEASE DATE) (Photo by @ 20th Century Fox)Up until this week, it was believed that Avatar 2 would be released next year, on December 18, 2020, following years of delays from its original release date in December 2014. This week, as Disney also revealed an every-two-years rotation of Star Wars movies in 2022, 2024, and 2026, they did the same thing for the upcoming Avatar sequels. The four Avatar sequels (yes, James Cameron is really working on four sequels) are now scheduled for December releases in the odd years: Avatar 2 (December 17, 2021), Avatar 3 (December 22, 2023), Avatar 4 (December 19, 2025), and Avatar 5 (December 17, 2027). Paramount Pictures took quick advantage of the vacuum left by the Avatar 2 move, pushing their own sequel, Coming to America 2, back to December 18, 2020. By doing that, Paramount also made room for the science-fiction drama Infinite, starring Chris Evans, on August 7, 2020. For their own part, Disney also replaced Avatar 2 with their own films, the double feature of Steven Spielberg s West Side Story remake on December 18, 2020, followed by Cruella (the live-action 101 Dalmatians starring Emma Stone), five days later on December 23, 2020. We can expect the next few weeks to have more release date changes from Disney s competitor studios.Like this? 2. 公平游戏环境
对于玩家来说,一款游戏首先应该做到的是“好玩”,如果不好玩的话他就失去了其作为游戏本身的含义;然而,如今大部分手游用户的需求却是:亚博客户端(Photo by Netflix)When Netflix’s eclectic animated sci-fi anthology series Love Death Robots returns on Friday, it will unleash a new set of eight startling visions that recall anthology magazines like Heavy Metal in terms of well-rendered worlds and intense short subjects. It is a different style of series for the service, which tends to support serialized storytelling, so if you happen upon the program while browsing Netflix this weekend, you may wonder what the program is all about.Fortunately, executive producers Tim Miller and Jennifer Yuh Nelson spoke with Rotten Tomatoes about the new shorts and how the series uses animation to tell different kinds of stories. With their assistance, here are some things to know before you push play.1. It Creates Lovingly Rendered Sci-Fi Worlds(Photo by Netflix)As Nelson pointed out, the second set of shorts have a common thematic tie: showing the worlds” created by the various filmmakers and animation studios involved in the project. Although, both she and Miller agreed that commonality is more of an unconscious decision enabled by the format.“Animation allows you to create worlds in a way that s so liberating. It s almost like the worlds become characters to these allegorical stories that ground these questions and challenging ideas in a way that s accessible to people,” she explained. “And in a short, it s kind of insane the amount of world-building that we did for something that s 15 minutes.”One example of this tantalizing worldbuilding is the short “Snow in the Desert.” Set in a rocky landscape, the stark beauty of a distant alien world — and the clues indicating why anyone would choose to live there — offers the story a richness thanks to elements which are entirely visual.“It s an amount of world-building that you would do for a feature, and it just is for 15 minutes, and then it s gone,” Nelson continued. And, perhaps, the fleetingness of those realities helps them seem more alive. It also means the sensation you may feel of having left Snow’s desert or a field of tall grass too soon is entirely intentional.Miller added, “But it is nice that [the viewer] wants more. I love the short and sharp.”2. It Utilizes Some Great Sci-Fi Short Stories As Jumping- Off Points(Photo by Netflix)Like the first volume, Love, Death Robots continues to use some great and evocative short stories as the creative jumping-off point for each film. The tall grass story comes from a story written by Joe Lansdale and may constitute the most frightening tale of the second volume. Other shorts are based on the works of Rich Larson, Joachim Heijndermans, and Harlan Ellison among others.“We re free to choose whatever stories we want, obviously, for the mix, but as Jennifer will tell you, I get a little obsessive about being true to the story once we ve chosen them,” Miller said. “I feel such a debt to the authors. They had the original flash of brilliance … The story wouldn t exist if it wasn t for them having an idea.”Although the tendency is to be faithful to the original text, some changes do occur for a variety of reasons.“Sometimes [it is] a concession of the format, or going into the visual nature of film versus the written work,” Nelson explained. “But it s always been a respect to the original spirit of the story.”(Photo by Netflix)The short she directed, “Pop Squad,” features an altered ending from Paolo Bacigalupi’s story. Despite that change, Nelson felt the “relevant” nature of the author s work still comes through in the finished film.“It s the idea of what happens to society, relationships, the meaning of life when a basic tenant of something that you live under is changed. Some limitation is removed,” she explained. “I think that is something we re probably going to have to face as a society at some point.”Although to elaborate further would constitute a spoiler for “Pop Squad,” its philosophical conundrum may prove to be the most harrowing issue some viewers are confronted with in Volume 2.3. It Very Nearly Crosses the Uncanny Valley … Even If the Producers Aren’t So Sure(Photo by Netflix)If you recall some of the early attempts at creating human characters in computer generated animation — Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, for example — you may note that the program also highlights the breathtaking advancements in crossing the so-called Uncanny Valley: the limitation of 3D CG animation to convincingly render those characters without some form of abstraction.“It gets closer every day,” Miller said. Generally, I find that if you have a character that s just standing there, and smiling and emoting, or frowning, we can say we ve crossed the Uncanny Valley. At the same time, Miller maintained that dialogue is still a different animal and presents a further hurdle in seeing the other side of the valley. Thanks to the growing sophistication of that branch of the medium — and some visual trickery to avoid traditional close-ups — the viewer’s eye may not be so drawn to the aspects of human speech CG animation has yet to conquer.Nevertheless, it is still a far cry from the early attempts to render human characters in CG animation 20+ years ago. Those hollow and glossy puppets have been replaced with far more detailed and visually appealing characters who move in very convincing ways. Nelson credits that increased appeal to a better understanding of how to get good acting out of the animation programs.“If you have good acting, you forget that it s animated. It could be a stick figure [or] it could be a super realistic face, if you feel for the character, you re there with the character and you re not looking at whether that nose looks right,” she said. But as Miller pointed out, the Uncanny Valley is rooted in the human brain’s primal need to suss out friend or foe.“You re often trying to overcome something that is hard to quantify because it s an unconscious understanding of how facial muscles work,” he explained. Consequently, some will see the humans rendered in Volume 2 of the series as more successful than others.4. It Also Celebrates Other Animation as a Complex Form of Filmmaking(Photo by Netflix)While many of the shorts utilize a very realistic CG style, several of them go for something more stylized in terms of the characters, the overall design, or something the viewer might perceive as more arty. As Miller explained, “The Tall Grass” was designed by Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia episode director Simon Otto to have a “painterly texture, so you almost see an illustration come to life.”“He s an amazing animator so he wanted to make things feel like fitting in that world,” Miller continued. “And he wanted to make sure that the acting, and the animation, and the looseness, and the frame rate actually worked with that sort of stylized texture.”Although Miller thought the original Landsdale story could become a very compelling live-action short or feature, Otto’s “conscious artistry” was half the thrill of producing it as an animated film.(Photo by Netflix)“That s where I think animation is superior, because not only are you worried about all the things that you have to worry about in live action, but there s this whole other layer where you can do things; this creative layer, whether it s a choice of style or animation. You can do stop motion, you can do 2D, you can do 3D. There are a lot of decisions that fall outside the realm of what you do when you re doing live action.”That sense of artistry runs right through the volume, whether it’s the more caricatured humans of Automated Customer Service, the 2D look of Ice, or Miller’s very grounded CG short, “The Drowned Giant.”5. It’s Not Afraid To Be Melancholy(Photo by Netflix)By not needing to support a serialized story or build up a single, franchise-able world, the program also has to the freedom to do something rarely seen in Western animation: be melancholy. “The Drowned Giant,” for example, is a rumination on mortality via the slowly decomposing corpse of a giant human man which inexplicably washes up on the British coastline. And though Miller mentioned it has a certain joke at the end of the short, it never goes back to the song-and-dance default conclusion of so much American animation — whether that means a literal song-and-dance or just a more upbeat ending. In the case of “The Drowned Giant,” the impulse was also to follow the tone as laid out by the story’s author, J.G. Ballard.“If you read the short story, you will absolutely recognize that it is a translation of that story. It s told in the same way, it s told with the same tone that Ballard did. And because I love the story, it didn t even occur to me that I should try and push it one way or the other,” Millar said. And though that is the tone of “The Drowned Giant,” don’t expect all of the shorts to have that same contemplative and melancholic feel. Some are rousing, others crescendo in a punchline. Nelson’s short, “Pop Squad,” may leave you pondering its central question for some time after. That variety is key to the notion of an animated anthology even as it offers a filmmaker like Miller to do something which would otherwise be “too downbeat” to produce.Nelson said the important thing is to create entertainment value, optimism, [and] positivity, where appropriate, but not the song-and-dance finale. Then again, who knows, maybe the next set of Love, Death Robots shorts will feature a sci-fi musical with a showstopping ending. As with the melancholy of The Drowned Giant, anything is possible in the program s format.Love, Death Robots: Volume 2 launches on Friday, May 14 on Netflix. On an Apple device? History was made Tuesday morning, with Black Panther becoming the first ever superhero movie to earn a Best Picture Oscar nomination. But that wasn t the only big/shocking/delightful news of the morning, depending on your perspective. Academy voters proved once again they still have the capacity to deliver a bombshell or two, serving out snubs and surprises in nearly every category – bestowing love on some films we never saw coming (hello, Buster Scruggs) while ignoring other movies that were considered sure things as late in the game as Monday afternoon. Here s our breakdown of the biggest snubs and surprises of the 2019 Oscar Nominations.SNUB: A Star Is Born (2018) 90% Nominated for Eight Awards, But Bradley Cooper Misses Out for Director(Photo by @ Warner Bros. Pictures)A Star Is Born earned plenty of love from the Academy on Tuesday, but Bradley Cooper missed out on a nomination for Best Director. That category was one of the morning s most surprising, with Yorgos Lanthimos (The Favourite) and Pawel Pawlikowski (Cold War) getting in ahead of Cooper and Ryan Coogler. (More on Pawlikowski below.) Don t cry too hard for Cooper, though: He is individually nominated for Best Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, and for Best Song.SURPRISE: Black Panther (2018) 96% Becomes First Superhero Movie Ever to be Nominated for Best Picture(Photo by © Marvel / © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures)It was not totally unexpected, but it was never a sure thing either: This morning, Marvel Studios’ Black Panther became the first ever superhero movie to be nominated for Best Picture. The timing is auspicious, with the announcement coming 10 years after The Dark Knight was snubbed in the category, a move that prompted the Academy to widen its Best Picture nominations pool to a potential 10 movies. The movie scored a total of seven nominations, but failed to land a nomination for Best Director for Ryan Coogler. The film also failed to score a nomination for Best Visual Effects, where Christopher Robin scored a surprise nod.SURPRISE AND SNUB: Willem Dafoe Beats Out Ethan Hawke for Best Actor Nomination(Photo by @ A24)For those of us at RT HQ, this one hurt. Ethan Hawke was never a lock for a Best Actor nomination for his incredible portrayal of a priest in crisis in First Reformed, but there was always a chance. He had done well with critics’ groups, and his performance was that good. But our hopes were dashed Tuesday morning when his name wasn’t called. His snub did allow for one of the bigger surprises of the nominations: Willem Dafoe picking up a nomination for his role as artist Vincent van Gogh in Julian Schnabel’s At Eternity’s Gate. (If there was going to be a surprise, we thought it might come in the form of BlacKkKlansman s John David Washington, whose co-star Adam Driver did get a nomination for Best Supporting actor.)SNUB: Eighth Grade (2018) 99% And Crazy Rich Asians (2018) 90% Land Zero Nominations(Photo by @ A24)No original screenplay nomination for Eighth Grade writer-director Bo Burnham. No Best Actress nomination for Elsie Fisher. Nada. Many probably saw this coming, though. The film is high up on our Awards Leaderboard, but many of its awards have been for first-time directing or breakthrough performance, categories that have no equivalents at the Oscars. Still, it was a surprise to see the 99% Certified Fresh film get zero love on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, Crazy Rich Asians, an outside chance at Best Supporting Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay, also failed to make the grade.SURPRISE: Marina de Tavira Is Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for Roma (2018) 96%(Photo by Carlos Somonte / © Netflix / courtesy Everett Collection)The open fifth slot in the Best Supporting Actress category – Amy Adams, Regina King, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weisz were all considered locks – always had the potential to surprise. Many were expecting Emily Blunt to squeeze in for A Quiet Place or Claire Foy to be recognized for First Man; few were expecting Roma’s Marina de Tavira to edge both actresses out. In the film, De Tavira plays Señora Sofia, whose complex relationship with her house keeper centers the film – and who has some memorable scrapes in the family car.SNUB: Timothée Chalamet Gets No Love for Beautiful Boy (2018) 67%(Photo by @ Amazon Studios)Though the film didn’t exactly light up the Tomatometer, critics agreed that Timothée Chalamet’s performance as a young man struggling with addiction in Beautiful Boy was something of a revelation; for the “diner scene” alone many thought he was a shoe-in for a Best Supporting Actor nomination. In the end, Academy voters went with Sam Rockwell and his portrayal of former president George W. Bush in Adam McKay’s Vice. Rockwell won the category last year for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.SURPRISE: Coen Bros.’ The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) 89% Lands Three Nominations(Photo by © Netflix / courtesy Everett Collection)We’ll be honest, we had not predicted a single nomination for the Coen Bros.’ episodic Netflix Western. And yet the film managed to score noms for Best Original Screenplay, Best Costume Design, and for Best Song for perhaps the most Western-sounding ditty ever written, “When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs for Wings.” The film sits Certified Fresh at 92% on the Tomatometer.SNUB: Justin Hurwitz Loses Out on Best Score Nomination for First Man (2018) 87%(Photo by @ Universal Pictures)Frequent Damien Chazelle collaborator Justin Hurwitz may have won the Golden Globe for Best Original score just weeks ago, but his work went unrecognized by the Academy Tuesday morning. Marco Beltrami, who was also up for a Golden Globe for his score for A Quiet Place, also failed to make the Oscar cut. Instead, If Beale Street Could Talk composer Nicholas Britell and BlacKkKlansman’s Terence Blanchard joined Golden Globe nominees Alexandre Desplat (Isle of Dogs), Ludwig Goransson (Black Panther), and Marc Shaiman (Mary Poppins Returns) in the Oscars category.SURPRISE: Germany’s Never Look Away (2018) 77% Beats Out South Korea’s Burning (2018) 95% for a Foreign Language Slot(Photo by Caleb Deschanel / © Sony Picture Classes )Director Chang-Dong Lee’s Burning is one of 2018’s most acclaimed films, Certified Fresh at 95%, and has been generating buzz on the festival circuit for months (many even hoped for a surprise Best Supporting Actor nomination for Steven Yeun). On Tuesday morning, though, Lee’s film missed out on a slot in the Best Foreign Language Film category, with director Florian Henckel von Donnersmark’s Never Look Away, representing Germany, sneaking in as a surprise contender. Never Look Away, which sits at 81% on the Tomatometer, is a sweeping epic that tracks 30 years of the life of a great artist who is loosely based on German abstract artist Gerhard Richter; the movie also surprised in the Best Cinematography category, picking up a nomination for Caleb Deschanel’s work.SURPRISE: First-time actress Yalitza Aparicio Becomes Second Mexican Woman to be Nominated for Best Actress(Photo by @ Netflix)The Cinderella story continues for Roma star Yalitza Aparicio, who this morning became just the second Mexican woman ever to be nominated for Best Actress (Selma Hayek was the first, nominated for 2002 s Frida). Aparicio got the coveted fifth slot in the Best Actress category over some tough competition, including Emily Blunt and Nicole Kidman, who were both snubbed for their work in Mary Poppins Returns and Destroyer respectively.

ages for Film Independent) We all have those markers in our lives, whether that s a swimming lesson, or a bike riding lesson, or getting to college and meeting Barry Jenkins. “I first saw the film from start to finish as a rough cut screening that we had in Los Angeles months before we presented at Telluride. The swimming scene definitely stood out to me, almost like a marker within the entire narrative that kind of stuck with you, as these important moments do. I think we all have those in our lives, markers that we can all kind of recall as adults now that shape our journey on some level, whether that s a swimming lesson, or a bike riding lesson, or getting to college and meeting Barry Jenkins – or whatever these things are that find ways to change and alter your own personal narrative are wonderful. I feel very lucky, again, to have met Barry when I did. I feel very lucky to be at the beach that day with them; I feel like I participated in capturing a story and a scene that I think has a lot of meaning for people.”Moonlight was released on November 18, 2016. Buy or rent it at FandangNOW.Like this? HOW IS THE REST OF THE CAST?Tim Robbins returns to the geographic proximity of THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION but plays a man haunted by his past and trying to make amends. Barkhad Abdi gets his meatiest acting role since CAPTAIN PHILLIPS and nails it. Even Elsie Fisher shows her work in EIGHTH GRADE was no fluke as she plays the tormented daughter of Annie Wilkes. —Alex Maidy, JoBlo s Movie EmporiumSam Shaw and Dustin Thomason are intent on putting their best foot forward from the moment go. That means making use of Caplan and Fisher, but also Tim Robbins as Pop Merrill, Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire) as Ace Merrill, and Barkhad Abi (Captain Philips), as a criminal family threatening to tear itself apart over the construction of a new Somali mall in Castle Rock. —Alex Maidy, JoBlo s Movie EmporiumAbdi and Warsama are both standouts in a Somali storyline that starts off intriguing and timely only to sputter a bit by the season s halfway point. —Dan Fienberg, The Hollywood ReporterHOW DOES THIS NEW EPISODIC STORY COMPARE TO ONE IN SEASON 1?Season 2 fares a bit better. The show is still far too obsessed with trying to ape producer J.J. Abrams’ infamous “mystery box” formula, where only tiny bits of info are doled out in frustrating fashion. But the story is stronger overall, as is the cast of characters. —Chris Evangelista, SlashFilmThe effectiveness of not just the characters but the story itself is so strong and compelling that we don t need any other references to King and his memorable characters throughout the rest of the season, with those possible nods likely only heightening the rivetting story that we already get to witness take place. —Patrick Cavanaugh, ComicBook.comDespite all its high drama, season two feels a little more conventional in its narrative, and that’ll likely make for a more satisfying story arc, especially with all the horror-fantasy elements to come. —Cheryl Eddy, IO9Much like Season 1, this is a Stephen King mixtape, but the tunes are much better this time around. —Mike Fugere, CBRCastle Rock season 2 premieres on Wednesday, October 23 on Hulu.

(Photo by Dimension Films/courtesy Everett Collection)All Hayao Miyazaki Movies RankedBeyond the awards, beyond the box office, how do you know the films of Hayao Miyazaki are beloved and universal the world over? Scroll through his filmography on Rotten Tomatoes and you ll find nary a Rotten rating. In fact, there isn t even anything below 80%! It s a sign of how far-reaching and influential his works are, made alongside his band of mad, merry animators at Studio Ghibli, whose tales of empathy, kindness, and bravery touch far beyond the borders of Japan.Though Miyazaki is synonymous with Studio Ghibli, here we re focusing only on his efforts as a feature film director, which started in earnest even before Ghibli was formed. 1979 s Castle of Cagliostro was a calling card that a talent had broken through the ranks of TV (where he had worked for two decades as an animator), adapting the long-running Lupin the 3rd charater into a rousing, action-packed heist adventure. By the time Miyazaki s next feature came out, 1984 s Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Studio Ghibli was up and running to deliver everything the film required, elements that would become Miyazaki s trademarks: a female-centric story, fleets of airborne transportation, plenty of lush flora and cute fauna, and an ecological bent exploring man s frequently destructive relationship with nature. What followed was a veritable hit parade of classics: Castle in the Sky, the closest Miyazaki ever got to working in Spielberg mode; Kiki s Delivery Service, a sweet and charming coming-of-age witch story; Porco Rosso, a deeply romantic tale of cursed pigs and dogfights over the Adriatic; and Princess Mononoke, the violent action epic of the war between the natural world and human technological progress. It all reached its arguable cultural zenith with Spirited Away, the Alice in Wonderland-esque tale of a young girl lost in a world of spirits, which won the Best Animated Feature Oscar and topped our list of 140 Essential Animated Movies ever.Miyazaki has spent the last two decades oscillating between retirement and returning to Studio Ghibli every time the pull of delivering another animated masterpiece became too strong (it s appreciated!), giving the world the likes of Howl s Moving Castle, Ponyo, and The Wind Rises. He s currently back in not-retired mode, working since 2016 on How Do You Live?, an adaptation of the 1937 children s novel of the same name. As Miyazaki turns 80, we rank all of his movies by Tomatometer!
Rank: 19Network: BBC AmericaPremiere date: March 30, 2013Stars: Tatiana Maslany, Tatiana Maslany, Tatiana Maslany, Tatiana MaslanyThe opening minutes of Orphan Black are intriguing enough, with British twentysomething Sarah Manning encountering a troubled woman on a subway platform moments before she commits suicide — but the shock when the woman turns around and looks identical to Sarah is just as surprising to the audience as it is to Sarah, who soon uncovers a global conspiracy and learns that the woman is one of many who look like her. They’re clones. It’s the first glimpse at the incredible work star Tatiana Maslany does as the seestras, and a fascinating start to an expansive, imaginative modern sci-fi series.

亚博客户端 而《天谕》手游中也是如此,钓鱼、采集什么的生活任务都可以做,但与《天涯明月刀》手游不同的是,《天谕》手游中的生活职业只能选一个:

英雄联盟手游最大的用户来源,想必是端游,但现在白银分段都会R闪回旋踢的情况下,会有多少人,享受手游的操作呢? meanwhile in the upside down pic.twitter.com/BtPlMjy0pS Stranger Things (@Stranger_Things) October 1, 2020Filming had only been underway for about a month when the COVID-19 pandemic cut production short, but it resumed again at the very end of September. Needless to say, the show was certainly not going to be ready to air until the latter half of 2021 at the earliest. Up to this point, each season came out around the time of year when it took place — i.e. Season 2 took place around Halloween and was released in October, Season 3 took place over summer break and came out around the 4th of July — and the fact that the upcoming season takes place during the school year (and, judging from social media clues, in the fall) led us to believe Season 4 could have potentially premiered in the fall of 2021. Then, of course, we got the teaser released on August 6, 2021, which didn t show us much of anything new, but declared that Season 4 would drop sometime in 2022. Is it possible that Netflix will hold it until the fall of 2022 to keep with tradition? Maybe, but that means we ve got a long wait ahead of us.Will There Be More? There had been plenty of speculation that the fourth season of Stranger Things would be the last — especially since the young actors definitely don t look like middle schoolers anymore. But in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ross Duffer said that the story isn t wrapping up just yet. Season 4 won t be the end, he said. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The pandemic-induced shut-down] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story. What s Up With This Eleven Teaser? While there s still no premiere date, the powers that be at Netflix know that multiple years is way too long to go without any new Stranger Things content whatsoever — which is why they released a new (mysterious, of course) teaser in May hinting at some previously unrevealed information about Season 4.The minute-long clip is focused on Eleven, featuring what appears to be a flashback of the facility where our favorite superpowered teen was raised. As the clock strikes 3 (you ll recall we know episode 2 is titled  Tick Tok Mr. Clock ), children play games (including what looks like Demogorgon chess — Queen s Gambit crossover confirmed! kidding) in a medical/science-type facility. A magic 8 ball reads signs point to yes and a Plinko game with discs that landed on numbers 4, 7 and 8. A man says, Good morning, children as the camera pans to a door with 11 on it — and our Eleven (played by Brown), startled, opens her eyes. What does it mean?! And are we getting more?! That s up to us to analyze and wait until Netflix decides to give us some more info.Stranger Things 4 will premiere on Netflix in 2022.On an Apple device? Follow Rotten Tomatoes on Apple News.

Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (2018) 53% In 2016, Disney released a live action/CGI hybrid remake of The Jungle Book, a musical adventure based on the Rudyard Kipling book of the same name, and it was a runaway success. Even before that film went into production, however, Warner Bros. had already begun development on their own adaptation of Kipling s book, with Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Naomie Harris lending their voices to the animal characters and Andy Serkis, who voices Mowgli s bear friend Baloo, at the helm as director. The end result is Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, a decidedly darker take on the source material that follows a young boy raised by wolves who must decide whether to remain in the jungle or return to civilization. The film opens in a handful of theaters this week, with an eventual release on Netflix next Friday, and according to critics, its move to the streaming platform may have been a strategic one by Warner Bros. While Serkis passion for the project is clear and the A-list cast is reliably effective, critics say Mowgli suffers from comparisons to the Disney film, both in the quality of its special effects and in the consistency of its tone, and the final product is a messy if ambitious misfire.

亚博客户端 More than 30 years after publication, and more than 25 years following the first adaptation, Stephen King’s massive novel It was turned into the highest-grossing horror movie of all time — and with an 86% on the Tomatometer, it’s one of the best-reviewed releases in the genre, as well. It (now known as It: Chapter One) left its sequel with some pretty big shoes to fill — appropriate for a movie about a clown. Can the highly anticipated It: Chapter Two satisfy sky-high expectations? According to many of the first reactions from critics and entertainment journalists on social media, not quite, though it makes a mighty – and scary – effort. For others, though, a set of excellent performances (particularly from Bill Hader), some genuinely creepy set pieces, and a mountain of ambition make the trip back to Derry worthwhile. Here’s what critics are saying about It: Chapter Two:Is this another great IT movie?“It: Chapter Two is awesome…Congrats to everyone that worked on it for a job well done.” Steven Weintraub, Collider
