在最后的最后,我甚至可以大胆猜测,虽然游戏可能还需要时间去打磨修补,但这并不妨碍DNF手游在今年有新的动作保持关注度。 The wait is almost over! Vin Diesel and his family — now including John Cena — are back for F9, the latest installment of the Fast Furious franchise, and it’s finally arriving in theaters on June 25. More than a month ahead of that release, though, a number of critics have had the chance to see the sequel and were permitted to share their thoughts on social media. As you’re no doubt expecting, this movie is reportedly filled with ridiculous action to the point that it’s potentially too silly in its physics-defying spectacle. Does it have any script problems? Who cares, right? Especially when Han (Sung Kang) is back and properly honored. Regardless, it’s still fun seeing the positive buzz on this highly anticipated blockbuster. Here’s what critics are saying about F9:How does F9 compare to the rest of the franchise?F9 is outrageous and one of the biggest, baddest additions to the Fast family franchise.  Shannon McGrew, Nightmarish ConjuringsF9 was AMAZING! Justin Lin s return is a high ranking entry.  Mike Reyes, CinemaBlendIt s a TON OF FUN!! This is ultimate Fast Furious.  Molly Freeman, Screen RantF9 is grandiose fun. Bombastic, brazen, bold.  Courtney Howard, Fresh FictionF9 is by far the biggest and most ridiculous Fast Furious yet. [But it’s] miles from the precision of Fast Five or the fun of Tokyo Drift.  David Ehrlich, IndieWireThis is one of the weakest entries in the franchise, probably near the bottom. If they continue this, I honestly hope they are spin-offs like Hobbs and Shaw, which I enjoyed much more.  Scott Menzel, We Live EntertainmentIt s the worst FF movie to date.  John Campea, The John Campea Show(Photo by ©Universal Pictures)How is the cast?Vin Diesel and John Cena are terrific. Tyrese is the stealth MVP. Courtney Howard, Fresh FictionTyrese steals the whole god damn show. Shannon McGrew, Nightmarish ConjuringsAlso HAN IS STILL GREAT!!! Molly Freeman, Screen RantHow is the action? The action continues to be pure bonkers adrenaline…absolute blockbuster bliss. Mike Reyes, CinemaBlendSupercharged stunts and ambitious action set pieces mix with combustible soap opera dramatics. It’s a cacophony [of] car-crunching mayhem. Courtney Howard, Fresh FictionAnything is possible, there are surprises at every turn, the stunts are at their best. Shannon McGrew, Nightmarish ConjuringsThe action feels fresh and innovative, if not necessarily bigger. Molly Freeman, Screen Rant(Photo by ©Universal Pictures)Does the plot match the spectacle? The story actually gets some exciting depths. Mike Reyes, CinemaBlendIt weaves in John Cena s Jakob in a smart way that builds on the theme of family, giving it some real heart. Molly Freeman, Screen RantIt takes a while to rev up but won me over by the end. David Ehrlich, IndieWireIt’s overly long, convoluted. Scott Menzel, We Live EntertainmentDoes it get too ridiculous? The Fast movies 4-8 work well because they embrace the ridiculousness. But at some point it s way too much. The couple of moments of laughs and charm are totally overwhelmed by the eye rolling nonsense. John Campea, The John Campea ShowF9 gets busy (too busy)… in its outer-space sequence, flirts with jumping the shark. Owen Gleiberman, VarietySo ridiculously over the top that it borders on being insulting rather than fun and entertaining. Scott Menzel, We Live EntertainmentEverything is over-the-top, and I loved every second of it. Shannon McGrew, Nightmarish ConjuringsI found myself giggling at the sheer audacity of a few of the big set pieces and some other stuff. It’ll absolutely make you forget your troubles for a few hours. Courtney Howard, Fresh FictionHearing other people laugh around me when some ridiculously over the top action happened was the best part. Thank you science. Steve Weintraub, Collider(Photo by ©Universal Pictures)So it s worth seeing in a theater? If you feel safe going I definitely definitely definitely suggest seeing it on the big screen cause wow wow wow. Shannon McGrew, Nightmarish ConjuringsMAN I MISSED GOING TO THE MOVIES. and Fast Furious 9 was definitely a fun one to be my first movie back in theaters!! Molly Freeman, Screen RantDo we need to watch all the previous movies ahead of time?I m glad I watched all eight main Fast Furious movies before seeing F9 — the movie rewards longtime fans in some cool ways. But I m gonna give myself a headache trying to make the franchise timeline make sense! You just gotta roll with it! Molly Freeman, Screen Rant[F9 delivers] satisfying answers to some important questions. Mike Reyes, CinemaBlendSo the franchise is still going strong? With Justin Lin at the helm it feels like things are finally moving in the right direction. David Ehrlich, IndieWire[There’s] plenty of gas left in the tank. Courtney Howard, Fresh FictionThis franchise has officially run out of gas. Scott Menzel, We Live EntertainmentF9 opens in theaters on June 25, 2021.On an Apple device? Follow Rotten Tomatoes on Apple News.

At the time, Variety reported that Marvel s deal with Netflix prevented any of its shows characters from appearing in non-Netflix properties for two years following cancellation … Maroon 5 performed at halftime and the New England Patriots defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 in Super Bowl LIII at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta … The Oscars aired without a host for the first time since 1989, after comedian Kevin Hart quit the job after controversy erupted over homophobic tweets he had posted previously … T-Pain, costumed as Monster, was the first winner of The Masked Singer … The Simpsons was renewed for two seasons (31 and 32), meaning it will become the first scripted series to run for 700 episodes … The dramedy Russian Doll premiered on Netflix and went on to earn Emmy nominations as Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for star Natasha Lyonne … Netflix also released the series adaptation of the superhero comic book The Umbrella Academy, which drew 45 million households to watch the first season during its first month of release.MARCHA MONTH OF LAW AND DISORDERHBO aired Leaving Neverland, during which Wade Robson and James Safechuck alleged Michael Jackson sexually abused them when they were children. By the end of its run, however, the season score would be Rotten (it is currently almost Fresh at 59%) after a three-episode flame-out. The show earned particularly strong critical praise for star Zendaya, and was renewed for a second season … The fallout from Game of Thrones’ final season continued with actress Lena Headey, who played Cersei in the series, speaking out about her character s fate: “Obviously you dream of your death,” she told The Guardian. “You could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted. But I just think they couldn’t have pleased everyone. No matter what they did, I think there was going to be some big comedown from the climb” James Holzhauer was nicknamed “Jeopardy James” for his 33-game winning streak on the game show, which, when it ended on June 3, had amassed ,464,216 for him. 3. 激战团竞模式
(Photo by Marvel/ABC)Although superheroes came to dominate comic books with the arrivals of the Justice League and the Fantastic Four in the 1960s, horror comics were big business in the decade prior with publisher EC Comics leading the pack. Successful titles like The Vault of Horror also became a lightning rod in the decade s juvenile delinquency scare. A Senate sub-committee was formed to determine of horror comics were poisoning the youth of America and rumblings of government intervention scared the comic book industry as a whole. DC Comics, Marvel, and Archie Comics (and a few other now-defunct publishers) forestalled any sort of regulation by agreeing to form their own self-censoring body, the Comics Code Authority. Though intended to ensure wholesome reading for youngsters, the CCA had a second, potentially more sinister purpose: preventing EC Comics from publishing horror comics. As EC publisher Bill Gaines put it in the documentary Comic Book Confidential, the CCA s first act was to ban almost every word used in EC s titles.Of course, the code also meant DC, Marvel, and Archie would avoid horror elements in their comics as well. But this restriction became less of a concern for the CCA in the early 1970s (well after EC became known for Mad Magazine). Marvel quickly introduced Morbius this Living Vampire in the pages of Spider-Man and began publishing The Tomb of Dracula. The series introduced the prominent horror figure into its comic universe and marked the debut of the day-walking vampire hunter Blade. Soon, Ghost Rider and other horror-tinged characters appeared in the Marvel universe. Anticipating the code changes, DC revived House of Secrets as a horror title in 1969 and spun off its recurring Swamp Thing feature in 1972. These titles represented a marriage of horror and the superhero which continues to this day. They would also inspire the horror titles of the 1990s independent market which never faced the Comics Code Authority or its restrictions. And as television continues to mine comics for inspiration, horror characters (and horror titles) are finally making their mark on networks and streaming services. Some lean into the graphic nastiness of horror conventions, while others go for more subtle terrors. But which are the most successful? Let s take a look at the five scariest comic book characters to grace the screen so far and see how they bring elements of horror to the comic book show subgenre.Ghost Rider | Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 95%Burning an indelible impression into S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fourth season, Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) first appeared to Daisy (Chloe Bennet) as Robbie Reyes, a kid with car and a sense of justice. But when she pressed the issue of his apparent vigilantism, she met the Rider. Bursting forth from Robbie’s skull, the character had an aspect body horror about him. Later, viewers grasped the real terror as Robbie slowly let Daisy and Coulson (Clark Gregg) know the truth: the previous Rider – who may or may not have been Johnny Blaze – saved Robbie from a car wreck and passed the Rider onto him. Once bonded, the Spirit of Vengeance learned the accident was meant as a reprisal against Robbie’s uncle Eli (José Zuñiga), a would-be crime lord attempting to use the mystical Darkhold to further his plans. The Rider and Robbie formed an uneasy alliance as they became protectors of East L.A. Nonetheless, the Rider s interest in serving vengeance on Eli meant their partnership was always uneasy.Subsequent terrors included the Rider’s possession of Mack (Henry Simmons), the moment he finally dragged Eli to Hell, and his haunting deal with Coulson. The basic horror element here is, of course, demonic possession. And while more gruesome and graphic scenes were downplayed (this is still ABC after all), the terror of the Rider comes not just from his look, but from the way people feel when he inhabits them and the last traumatic effects. The series played him properly as supernatural force even the seasoned S.H.I.E.L.D. agents found terrifying. The Walkers | The Walking Dead 80%, Fear the Walking Dead 75%, and the Upcoming Third Walking Dead Series(Photo by AMC)How can we have a list of the scariest comic book characters on television without mentioning the Walkers of AMC’s various Walking Dead programs. Even if none of the shows use the word, they still trade in the existential horror of zombies — the notion that your body will be absorbed into some mindless mass of flesh after you die. Beyond that, zombie fiction also comes with a healthy dose of claustrophobia and the absolute terror of potential killing your own loved-ones once they turned. Also, because everyone in The Walking Dead world is a bad day from becoming a Walker, death takes on a second, awful meaning. But beyond the intellectual horrors of the zombie concept, the Walkers are incredible special effects. For the last decade, Greg Nicotero and his KNB EFX Group have done amazing things on television budgets and schedules to make Walkers ooze, crawl, drip, and gross out viewers. Sure, the Walkers are often just a mass of bodies swarming encampments – and, to be fair, that mass is terrifying – but the featured Walkers realized by KNB will remind viewers just how discussing and terrible zombification would be.Ramsey Rosso and His Blood Brothers  | The Flash 89%The most recent entry on the list takes some of its cues from the Walkers, but offers the classic image of the zombie a superhero upgrade thanks to dark matter and some occasionally dodgy CGI. Debuting in last week’s episode of The Flash, but getting a proper workout this week, the corpses controlled by Ramsey Rosso (Sendhil Ramamurthy) represent a dose of genuine horror movie tropes in the generally bright world of The Flash. Now changed by his strange dark-matter-and-blood substance, Rosso needs to feed on the living to maintain his existence – shades of a vampire there – but must first generate intense fear in them for the blood infusion to be effective. And if those ideas weren t terrifying enough, he can also control the bodies of his victims in a manner reminiscent of the Walkers before they eventually dissolve into more of that blood-like ooze. The effects work may not be up to par with The Walking Dead, but the ideas are effective and the blood brothers oozy ends are particularly gross.Rosso and his blood-kin also represent a new kind of horror – the sort which occurs when your work starts owning you. Rosso is so driven to cure his HLH that he is willing to sacrifice his own humanity – and the humanity of those he meets – to do it. Oh, and one supposes there is an element of egotism there, as well. Call it a critique of late-stage capitalism or the dangers of an out-of-whack work/life balance, but the results are pretty consistent with the sort of themes one finds under the decaying flesh of a zombie. And considering how humdrum the last few Flash villains have been, a horror-tinged adversary like Rosso is a welcome change.Jason Woodrue | Swamp Thing 92%(Photo by DC Universe)One of the great disappointments of DC Universe’s decision to cancel Swamp Thing after one year was that we only had one quick scene with Jason Woodrue (Kevin Durand) as the monstrous Floronic Man. It is a great scene in which Matt Cable (Henderson Wade) walks into the Marais Sherriff’s HQ and discovers all his coworkers dead. The power is out, the shadows are deep, and when Matt can make out distinct images, they are of persistent vegetation. Then he comes upon the Floronic Man, now seemingly driven mad from becoming a plant-based lifeform. The two exchange brief words, but the creature knows what it wants to do – kill anyone it encounters. This post-credit scene is a marvel, but it represent the culmination of the work Durand put into the previous ten episodes of the series establishing Woodrue as one of its great slow-burn menaces. And considering the show’s titular hero is himself a body-slashing figure of horror himself, that is saying something.Invited to Marais by local businessman Avery Sunderland (Will Patton) to investigate why the local swamp is having a bad reaction to his special “accelerant,” Woodrue appears as a man more invested in plants than people. The notable exception: his ailing wife Carolyn (Selena Anduze), who has a form of early onset Alzheimer’s Disease. Woodrue hopes to find a cure for her in the swamp and its reaction to his formula, but his offbeat personality changes into something menacing once he chances a look at Abby Arcane’s (Crystal Reed) sample of Swamp Thing’s (Derek Mears) plant matter. Soon it grows into an obsession and leads him to a place where he is willing to use his wife as a lab rat to prove he can save her.The terror here is, of course, that of a spouse gone wrong. And while it might be on a more operatic scale, the final moments of Woodrue and Carolyn’s relationship could just as easily be a more naturalistic episode of domestic violence. But since this is Swamp Thing, the ideas are heightened and Durand’s performance, already on the edge from the moment he first appears on screen, explodes into something altogether horrifying. The Reverse-Flash | The Flash 89%(Photo by Jordan Nuttall/The CW)While some of Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) other Speedster rogues may lean into more obvious horror clichés – Zoom, for one, would be at home in a film in which he slaughters camp counselors by the score – the original Reverse-Flash (Tom Cavanagh) consistently pulled off being the scariest character on comic book television in 2014 and 2015 while wearing a yellow suit. Thanks to his blurred face, crackling red eyes, and his mastery of speed, the character exuded menace and generated terror whenever he zipped into the frame. And to that Cavanagh’s stellar performance (both with and without vocal distortion), he continues to be the benchmark of villainy on that show. Consider his appearance during the 100th episode, in which he generated a season’s worth of chills in just three short scenes and out of costume. But in form of the Reverse-Flash, he is a sight to behold. A vision of terror fused with the generally heroic aspects of The Flash s own design. The success of that vision made Barry s own go at being a nightmare of himself — the time remnant known as Savitar — far less successful. Of course, it also proves more is less as the simple methods and motives of the Reverse-Flash still successful engage audiences when villains like The Thinker and Savitar fail to impress. His form of terror may not be as universal as demons or zombies. Indeed, it is very personal to Barry and, oddly enough, Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes). But it nevertheless manages to inspire some nightmares for viewers of The Flash. He is that relentless thing looking to tear down your accomplishments and undermine everything you aspire to be and a form of depression personified — with violence, calculation, and Cavanagh s voice.Which characters do you think are the scariest that have jumped from comic books to television? This week s Ketchup brings you another 10 headlines from the world of film development news (the stories about what movies Hollywood is working on for you next), covering titles like The Batman, Fantastic Beasts 3, Jurassic World 3, and Scream 5. [Note: This article has been updated to correct an erroneous role attribution and the implication that Wes Craven is still alive.]This WEEK S TOP STORYTHE BATMAN FINDS ITS ALFRED AND PENGUIN(Photo by Priscilla Grant/Everett Collection, Elizabeth Goodenough/Everett Collection)During the period when Jonah Hill was reportedly in talks for a villain role in The Batman (6/25/2021), various reports suggested the role was either that of the Riddler or the Penguin. Within hours of the announcement that Hill was no longer being considered, Paul Dano (Swiss Army Man, Love Mercy) was reported as being in talks to play the Riddler, but the casting of the Penguin remained a mystery for almost a month. In 2003, Colin Farrell costarred in Marvel s Daredevil as the villain Bullseye opposite Ben Affleck, whose departure from The Batman eventually led to the role going to Robert Pattinson instead. Everything came full circle this week as Farrell is now in talks to play the Penguin as the film s third cast villain (alongside Dano and Zoe Kravitz, who will be playing Catwoman). Andy Serkis, who appeared in a couple MCU movies as the vibranium-themed villain Klaw, is also in talks to play Bruce Wayne s butler Alfred Pennyworth. Although three villains might seem like plenty for just one movie, Kevin Smith claimed last month that The Batman will be adapted from the 1996-1997 storyline Batman: The Long Halloween, which also featured Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, the Scarecrow, and Two-Face, so there may still be more villains yet to be cast.Other Top Headlines1. DUNE SEQUEL ALREADY IN THE WORKS(Photo by Jan Thijs /© Paramount Pictures)Director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Sicario, Blade Runner 2049) is currently working on his adaptation of Dune, the popular science fiction novel by Frank Hebert that was first brought to the big screen by David Lynch in 1984. That movie doesn t come out for another thirteen months (12/18/2020), but Warner Bros. must really like what they ve seen of it so far, as the news came out this week that a screenwriter has already been hired to work on the second Dune movie. That job is going to screenwriter Jon Spaihts, the sole screenwriter credited for 2016 s Passengers, who also co-wrote the Alien prequel Prometheus, Marvel s Doctor Strange, and Villeneuve s first Dune movie. Spaihts had been working for HBO Max as the showrunner of a Dune: The Sisterhood series, but he s stepping down from that responsibility to focus on the second Dune instead. There have been reports in the past that the first new Dune movie will only adapt about half of the eponymous novel, so it may be more accurate to describe the second Dune movie not so much as a sequel as a continuation of the same adaptation (sort of like IT and IT: Chapter Two). Denis Villeneuve s all-star Dune cast includes Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, Josh Brolin, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson (as Lady Jessica), and Timothée Chalamet (as Paul Atreides).2. DWAYNE JOHNSON PRODUCING TWO DIFFERENT SPORTS TRUE STORIES (Photo by HBO)Just months after producing and co-starring (as himself) in the professional wrestling true story Fighting with My Family (Certified Fresh at 92%), Dwayne Johnson has attached himself to at least produce two other sports movies based on true stories. The first was announced late last Friday, as Johnson will produce and star in an untitled film about UFC champion Mark Kerr in what is being described as Johnson s first true dramatic role. The announcement was made at a UFC event at Madison Square Garden. Mark Kerr is a two-time UFC champion who was also the subject of a 2003 HBO documentary called The Smashing Machine. The other film Johnson is now producing is Unstoppable (not to be confused with the Denzel Washington/Chris Pine movie about a runaway train), a drama about undefeated three-time All-American college wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with only one leg.3. CHRIS PINE, ZAC EFRON REPLACE SETH ROGEN IN TWO SEPARATE MOVIES(Photo by Elizabeth Goodenough, Dee Cercone/Everett Collection)There were enough movie news stories this week to fill two editions of The Weekly Ketchup, mostly because Wednesday marked the beginning of this year s American Film Market, which is where many non-studio movie projects try to find funding and distribution. Two of the higher profile movies this week now have different lead actors after previously being Seth Rogen vehicles. The first is Newsflash, which will depict the events of November 22, 1963 from the perspective of CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite as he broke the news of President John F. Kennedy s assassination to a shocked nation. (The news of Chris Pine replacing Seth Rogen on Newsflash actually first broke in August.) Newsflash will be directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, whose The Current War: Director s Cut (Fresh at 60%) was just released, two years after its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September of 2017. Seth Rogen was also replaced this week by Zac Efron in another fact-based drama called King of the Jungle, as a reporter who travels to Belize to interview the controversial anti-virus software innovator John McAfee (a role that also needs to be replaced following the departure of Michael Keaton). Seth Rogen s next film will be An American Pickle, about a factory worker who wakes up in 2019 Brooklyn 100 years after being pickled at a pickle factory.4. JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM CO-STARS RETURN FOR JURASSIC WORLD 3(Photo by Giles Keyte, Jaimie Trueblood ©Universal Pictures)Although the original Jurassic Park is Certified Fresh at 91%, three of the four sequels have been Rotten, including the most recent film, last year s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (48%). Universal Pictures is preparing Jurassic World 3 (A.K.A. Jurassic Park 6, basically) for release on June 11, 2021, with the biggest casting news to date being the impending returns of three of the first movie s stars (Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Sam Neill). We now know that two of Fallen Kingdom s stars, namely Justice Smith and Daniella Pineda, will also be returning to co-star alongside Jurasic World s Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.5. TERMINATOR: DARK FATE BOX OFFICE KILLS THE FRANCHISE (Photo by Kerry Brown / © Paramount)In the last 10 years, there have been three different attempts to reboot the Terminator franchise, starting with Terminator: Salvation (Rotten at 33%) in 2009, continuing with Terminator Genisys (Rotten at 27%) in 2015, and this past week s Terminator: Dark Fate (Fresh at 71%). That last Tomatometer is possibly sadly ironic, because the return of James Cameron as producer may have helped raised the Tomatometer score, but the film s box office did not see a corresponding upswing. Instead, the million opening weekend for Terminator: Dark Fate is being reported as a bomb that will likely mean a loss for Paramount Pictures of upwards of 0 million. According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources close to Skydance say there are certainly no plans for another film at this point, and some of the pundits interviewed suggested that a TV series (possibly animated) may be the next step for the Terminator franchise.6. SCREAM FRANCHISE TO BE REBOOTEDAnother franchise that has struggled for Fresh Tomatometer scores following a promising start is Scream, which started with a Certified Fresh 79% and 82% for the first two movies, followed by a Rotten 39% for Scream 3, and a barely Fresh 60% for Scream 4 in 2011. More recently, Scream found new life as a TV show for three seasons, two of which also received Rotten Tomatometer scores from critics. The Scream franchise was always one of the crown jewels of producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein, and like many of their properties, the rights to Scream have new owners following the Weinstein Company s bankruptcy. The new owners are Spyglass Media Group, and Spyglass is now developing a fifth Scream movie, but it s not yet clear whether that film will be a reboot or just another direct sequel. Screenwriter Kevin Williamson, who penned the original Scream, Scream 2, and Scream 4, is not expected to be involved with the new movie.7. PARAMOUNT PLANNING 2021 RELEASES FOR PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 7 AND MY LITTLE PONY 2(Photo by ©Paramount Pictures)It s easy to forget this little bit of trivia now, as Marvel Studios is so thoroughly associated with Walt Disney Pictures, but early movies like Iron Man were actually produced for Paramount Pictures. Losing the Marvel movies was arguably one of the biggest setbacks in recent years for Paramount, prompting the studio to look elsewhere for potential franchises, including next year s G.I. Joe spinoff Snake Eyes (10/16/2020), as well as Sonic the Hedgehog (2/14/2020) and Rugrats (1/29/2021). This week, Paramount announced release dates in 2021 for two more sequels, though both follow on the heels of Rotten movies. First, Paramount has scheduled Paranormal Activity 7 for March 19, 2021, which will be coming after three other Rotten Paranormal Activity films (24% in 2012, 39% in 2014, and 14% in 2015). The Tomatometer for My Little Pony: The Movie (Rotten at 48%) was better, but still not Fresh, and Paramount is still scheduling a My Little Pony sequel for September 24, 2021 as well.

(Photo by Marvel Studios)As revealed in last week s episode of WandaVision, the sitcoms recreated in its earliest episodes truly mattered to Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). The homages to The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, and Malcolm in the Middle literally recall a suitcase her father carried around Sokovia. The shows continued to offer her solace into her adulthood, as seen in the moment when she and Vision (Paul Bettany) first bonded at Avengers HQ. Although there is some discussion as to when the DVD box sets in the suitcase were available at the time, and a few other questions about the timeline, this thematic connection is key to the overall story. And, as the program’s director of photography Jess Hall told Rotten Tomatoes recently, it was there from very early on. It was in the first draft of [showrunner] Jac Schaeffer’s episode eight script that I read early in pre-production, he said. So it was in my mind and informed my approach from the beginning. In the flashback to her Sokovian child, viewers learned Dick Van Dyke was Wanda s favorite of the old American sitcoms exported to the Eastern European country. Naturally, it was the one the series took the greatest pains to recreate.Although, as Hall explained, It was never simply about recreating specific shows; we were also interested in eras and the stylistic and technical approach that defined specific periods in the history of television sitcoms, which led to many more visual departures in subsequent episodes. It also created a mission for Hall to find the line between completely recreating the visual look of a 1950s sitcom and that of the contemporary story the series is actually telling.(Photo by Marvel Studios)One vintage look the show avoided, for example, was that of the kinescope. Prior to the adoption of 2 videotape in 1957, many live programs were recorded by simply pointing a film camera at a TV monitor. The resulting image garbled the intended contrasts and warped the overall image, but created a “good enough” copy for these programs to be shipped off to affiliate broadcasters outside of, say, the New York area. For WandaVision, it would ve been distracting. But even in terms of series originally shot on film, like Bewtiched, Hall noted it is still rare to actually see the original quality of the recording.“One of the things in going back to the original [broadcast of shows] was you re obviously not looking at an ‘original original,’ because you re looking at something that was shot on film and then transferred to video,” he said. “What I was able to do on the early footage [of WandaVision] was get some prints of some of the early sitcoms on film. I got some from the original negative and I then projected those and I looked at those.”The research led to the first episode’s recreation of The Dick Van Dyke Show’s lighting scheme and camera angles. Although, thanks to the rare negatives he looked at, the WandaVision footage is sharper than most people’s memories of that vintage program.(Photo by Marvel Studios)Creating that clearer-than-you-remember image became the working philosophy for the subsequent recreations of shows like Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, and even Family Ties – itself now a vintage program to the horror of many viewers.“In my mind, the reference was actually much closer to the original, not necessarily what had been seen by viewers on the televisions of the period,” he said. “I think once you go to that level, you re potentially degrading the image so much that you re losing some of the original characteristics. So our objective was not quite that.”He added the aim of the photography was to look at the [vintage] material and then create something that somehow has a modernity to it.”That modernity matters as, ultimately, The Brady Bunch and Malcolm in the Middle prove to be what Wanda was watching at pivotal moments in her life. Presumably, Bewitched and Family Ties held similar positions her memories for traumas yet to be explored.Series director Matt Shankman identified shows that were iconic both in terms of era and integral to Wanda s history via an emotional connection established in her childhood,  Hall explained. Thus, recreating the camera movements of Family Ties became important on both the technical and thematic levels. And, as it happens, those details would create a strong connection for the audience young enough to remember when that show aired on NBC or when some of the older programs ran in syndication — to say nothing of the people who may remember when Dick Van Dyke first aired!(Photo by Marvel Studios)To younger viewers, though, notions of fuzzy images caused by poor antenna reception, overworked videotape sources, and even the lower resolution of television in the 20th century would require explanations all their own and had the potential to get in the way of the story. In situations like those, Hall, Shankman, and the rest of the crew would look critically at what they could do with the image and judge whether it was too much. This is maybe [correct for] the era, but does it really serve the dramatic purposes of our narrative? was the question Hall would ask. That s what really leads the choices, he said. This is why the boxier aspect ratio of the first three episodes gives way to the wider 16:9 frame of HDTVs in episode five. The cinematography adds a dimension to Wanda’s story — something Hall called “the difference between an original and the memory of an original.”“The reality that Wanda s creating is quite fragile. So I think absolute replication was definitely not the goal. It was more about kind of whirring the audience into this kind of comfortable sitcom reality that was vaguely nostalgic,” he said.Creating that comfort also meant the visuals could be disrupted to “bring in some of the more sinister aspects of the narrative.” A great example of this in episode one when Mr. Heart (Fred Melamed) starts choking; the Dick Van Dyke–inspired staging and lighting gives way to more modern photography for the series’ first chilling moment.(Photo by Marvel Studios)But even with the elements he wanted to recreate – the filmic look of 60-year-old sitcoms shot on 35mm film, for example – technical limitations still appeared by virtue of the changes in filmmaking technology. Hall called it an “inherent challenge” as the 4K resolution High Dynamic Range digital cameras used to capture WandaVision result in a substantially different image than a film camera from the 1960s.“You re taking that highest level of quality and then trying to degrade it. There s a kind of contradiction there,” he said. “But it s a really interesting way to approach it. If someone asked me to do [a show like WandaVision] five years ago, I might ve said, ‘Oh we should shoot that on 35 mil,’ or ‘Let s shoot that shoot on 16 mil, let s get an old video camera to do that.’ With this show, I really decided to do the whole show on one camera and to really try and use the technology to actually create the different looks.”In fact, a whole field of filmmaking is devoted to making the qualities of specific vintage film stocks available to cinematographers like Hall. The results can be striking, as seen in the first three episodes of WandaVision.“There was a lot of in-depth color science work that I did with Technicolor to place a huge-bandwidth, raw high-quality camera signal in an envelope, which restricted the signal down to a 1950s black-and-white look, or an early color film look, or an early video look. There are plenty of algorithms and lots of computer tech behind that color science, but Hall said he really relished exploring the digital platform to its full capabilities. That was really one of the exciting things about this project and sort of appropriate to Marvel, who I feel are always kind of at the cutting edge technologically. And by shooting the entire series in 4K HDR, Hall delved into the higher end of what can be captured on the format.“The potential to have richer colors is actually technically a possibility now,” he said. “That really opened up a whole world for me in terms of what I looked at on the comic book reference, which had this incredibly vivid color.”(Photo by Marvel Studios)The results lead to the dynamic contrast in scenes set outside Wanda’s Hex, the colors on display when Monica steps through the barrier in episode seven, and the beauty of the images within Wanda s recreation of classic sitcoms.Of course, recreating sitcoms led to one more challenge for Hall: the three-camera set-up itself. Unlike movies, which typically light and shoot one angle of a scene at a time, sitcoms typically light an entire stage with three cameras following the actors as they play out a scene. In many productions, the job of editing the shots was done on the fly as a videotape recorded the resulting program. Other shows would take the material caught be the three cameras to the editing room and build the episode there. For WandaVision’s debut episode, the production mounted a full live-to-tape recording in front of a studio audience. episode five — the Family Ties-inspired episode — was also shot in the three camera set-up, but lacked a studio audience, a difference sure to please fans of television production.Nevertheless, lighting for three simultaneously running cameras taught Hall — a veteran of single-camera productions — a new set of skills.“You ve got to light for the 180 [degrees of the stage]. You re shooting a wide shot and two medium shots at the same time or you re shooting a two shot and two close ups at the same time,” he said. That means finding a lighting scheme which serves several cameras at once while still conveying the intent of each shot. He credited Shankman, a veteran sitcom actor from shows like Just The Ten of Us, with putting him through a “sitcom bootcamp” to hone the multicamera discipline. As a result, they wound up shooting scenes outside the Hex with multiple cameras.“There were action sequences that required coverage. And if you ve got a stunt, you might as well put a third camera on it because it might not be replicated again,” he said. Nevertheless, he admitted there were times he was happy to be out of the studio and on location with the S.W.O.R.D. crew or in Westview’s beautifully manicured exteriors. “I think the location work definitely provided some light relief from the set work, which became quite intense,” he said. “But this show had so much diversity in it, you never had a chance of getting bored because every day was different.”(Photo by Marvel Studios)Near the end of episode eight, Hall had the opportunity to turn the camera at his own lights just as Wanda came to understand why she started recreating old TV shows in the first place. As he put it, it s a self-reflexive moment that exposes the constructed reality of a show which thematically features a constructed reality at its core. And though we may not yet know the full extent of what Wanda, as the Scarlet Witch, can construct, the moment stands as one of the most fascinating in terms of what it took to tell her story. We are revealing the mechanisms of the medium itself and illustrating to the spectator that their perception of reality is manufactured, subject to change and transformation, Hall said. With one episode or revelations yet to be transmitted, we can t wait to see how Hall and his team photograph WandaVision s conclusion. The WandaVision season 1 finale premieres on Friday, March 5 on Disney+.On an Apple device? RORAPP下载 From its humble beginnings at the U.S. Grant Hotel to the modern, sprawling celebration of all things nerdy across the city, Comic-Con International: San Diego (originally San Diego s Golden Star Comic-Con) is an annual tradition many plan their entire year around. It is a convention like no other – some would say to its detriment – as film, television, games, and even comics bring their top talent and offer exclusive first looks at upcoming products. But more than being a giant pop-up shopping mall, Comic-Con is an experience filled with unexpected moments. The show is celebrating its 50th year this week and we could not help but be nostalgic about its past and some of the biggest moments in its wild history. Or, at least, the biggest moments in regard to the convention s relationship with film and television. Though there was always a media presence at the show, it really solidified its power in the 1990s, becoming a driving force in the new century. Naturally, though, the connection between comic books and other media will permeate this list as there would be no Comic-Con experiences without them. With that in mind, these are the 21 Comic-Con moments we remember most from 50 years of an awesome con.21. The San Diego Convention Center Expands And Hall H DebutsComic-Con first moved to the San Diego Convention Center in 1991. At the time, it comprised halls A-C. After the Convention Center expanded in the early part of the century, the show moved into hall D in 2001 and halls E-G the next year. The added space allowed media companies to put out big displays – like the Time Machine prop from the 2002 remake and an early Masters of the Universe toy revival – while leaving halls A-C as the domain of comics and collectables traders. The completed 2002 expansion gave us the current size of the exhibition floor, but 2004 would prove to be one of the most important years in terms of the convention s overall size with the debut of Hall H. At the time, it was just a 6,000-seat event space, but it would soon become one of the keys area of the entire venue.20. The X-Men Panel Gets Pulled At The Last MomentIn 1999, studios were still getting their footing in bringing talent to Comic-Con in an organized way. In the case of 20th Century Fox, this meant bringing some footage from their upcoming X-Men feature to Room 6AB (the Hall H of its day) along with director Bryan Singer and producer Lauren Shuler Donner. The room was full of excited fans, but after a brief shot of the White House on the projection screen, a Comic-Con staffer announced the panel had been canceled. This was before Singer’s alleged improprieties became public, but it may be an example of his legendary tardiness. It also highlights how recently the convention became a highly regimented publicity machine. Cancelling a panel after its scheduled start time would never happen today.19. Flynn’s Arcade Reopens(Photo by Michael Buckner/Getty Images)Off-site activations made it possible for those not going to Comic-Con to still enjoy some of the fun. And in a number of ways, 2009 s Flynn’s Arcade – a promotion for the then-upcoming Tron: Legacy – set the tone for the most successful pop-ups. Designed to recreate the arcade from the original Tron film, guests could play classic arcade games like Galaga before the Tron arcade cabinet lit up, revealing a whole new area of the exhibit. Inside, guests saw concept sketches for the film and a full-scale lightcycle prop. They also walked away from the hip event with Flynn’s Arcade t-shirts and a memory of something genuinely unexpected from Comic-Con. The immersiveness and quality freebies of Flynn s Arcade continue to influence activations, such as 2017 s Blade Runner 2049 experience.18. Hellboy Debuts In San Diego Comic-Con Comics #2 (1993)For a time, Comic-Con published a free comic book in association with Dark Horse Comics. The second yearly issue featured Mike Mignola’s first sketch of Hellboy. The character was mostly formed, even if his dark destiny and the BPRD were still a year or so from debuting in the pages of Dark Horse s first Hellboy series, which would eventually become the basis for Guillermo del Toro s 2004 Hellboy feature film. The character’s debut, however, illustrates how big Comic-Con things can happen literally in the pages of a comic book.17. Bryan Cranston Roams The Exhibit Floor As Walter WhiteSetting off a tradition of sorts – though there were some precursors – Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston surprised fans in 2013 when he revealed he was roaming the exhibition floor ahead of his panel dressed as the show s lead character, Walter White. Decked out in khakis and a plaid shirt, Cranston completed his disguise with a disturbingly life-like pull-over mask of his own face. Since he had a video crew with him, you would think more people would’ve guessed what was happening, but he correctly surmised most con-goers would assume it was a YouTube thing. Since that time, plenty of stars have used disguises to get some shopping done or experience the crowd. But few have pulled it off with such panache. Well, except maybe Matt Smith and his use of a Bart Simpson mask during the same convention.16. Lost Finds Early FansIf there was one hot topic following the 2004 Comic-Con, it was the screening of the Lost pilot. In an early attempt to bring a wider cross-section of genre shows to Comic-Con, ABC screened the first episode to a crowd of people vaguely aware of J.J. Abrams and/or Matthew Fox. It started a buzz which led the early adopters to make Lost one of the greatest Comic-Con success stories thanks to their talk of polar bears and potential dinosaurs. Granted, the dinosaurs turned out to be Jacob in the end. This was the moment television really took hold at Comic-Con, a mutually beneficial relationship which continues to this day.15. The Star Wars: Force Awakens Concert(Photo by Michael Buckner/Getty Images )A more recent big moment came during the 2015 Comic-Con when Abrams made a triumphant return to the show as the director of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. While he played coy about plot details with the panel moderator, he wowed the Hall H audience by inviting them to a concert of Star Wars music performed by the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. Most of the 6,000 attendees (with lightsabers in hand) followed Abrams to a nearby concert stage on one of the jetties behind the convention center. But anyone still inside Comic-Con for Friday night programming – like, say,  the Klingon Lifestyles Presentation – could still hear the event and the fireworks following the performance.14. Quentin Tarantino Misses The Kill Bill PanelIn 2003, Quentin Tarantino planned to regale fans with tales of his then-upcoming Kill Bill. His old pal Michael Madsen would be with him and they would show the audience assembled in Ballroom 20 the trailer for Volume 1. But one thing Tarantino did not plan for was an accident on the southbound Interstate 5 Highway earlier that day involving a truck filled with fiberglass insulation. It took hours to clean up and Tarantino missed the panel entirely, leaving a bewildered Madsen to answer questions from the audience. Over the years, the southbound I-5 has bedeviled con-goers thanks to exotic spills of crude oil, mattresses, and even meat formerly ready for store shelves. This moment is in honor of all the people who brave the roadways to get to Comic-Con. Tarantino, meanwhile, made sure to book extra travel time for subsequent Comic-Con panels promoting Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight.13. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Takes Over Both Hiltons, Hall H, And The Balboa TheaterWhile Flynn’s Arcade may be the most memorable off-site activation, Universal’s 2009 domination of Comic-Con to promote Scott Pilgrim vs. The World may be the biggest film rollout ever executed at the event. Utilizing exhibit space next to the Hilton Gaslamp, the pop-up offered a look at the film, a really awkward standee of star Michael Cera, and a bar where fans could get custom-made t-shirts. There was even ice cream at certain parts of the day. The movie poster was painted onto the tower of the nearby Hilton Bayfront and, in a show of strength, the studio arranged for the film to be screened over three evenings at the Balboa Theater up the road – though the first night was a surprise for all those who attended the Hall H panel. Considering the film’s origins and tone, Comic-Con was its key market and the studio made a tremendous effort to treat con-goers like royalty. The film itself may have faded from the public consciousness, but Universal s attempt to court the Comic-Con crowd will always be remembered.12. Kevin Feige Suggests Movie CrossoversThankfully, video exists of a 2006 Marvel Studios panel in which Kevin Feige was asked about a potential crossover between its characters. This was still before any of the grand designs were known beyond the planned films based on Iron Man, Captain America, the Hulk, and Thor. Nonetheless, Feige offered this response: There s no coincidence that that may, someday, equal the Avengers. Having that possibility on the horizon is something that excites all of us.” Little did anyone know at the time that it would all become a reality, although those in attendance cheered at the mere suggestion. In hindsight, his stumbling through the response suggests he knew he was giving the game away. It would be the last time Feige would ever offer such a straightforward answer in public.11. The Dark Knight Orchestrates A Joker Scavenger Hunt(Photo by © Warner Bros. Pictures)The Dark Knight’s marketing campaign was one for the ages with Harvey Dent rallies and fans getting phone calls to see the first nine minutes of the film. But one of the best stunts involved a scavenger hunt across San Diego’s Gaslamp district. Clues were literally written in the sky and handed out by people in Joker attire – the alleged perpetrator of the scavenger hunt. In the end, participants were awarded a link to The Dark Knight s online teaser, but for those ordered by the Joker to adopt his signature make-up, it was one of the best Comic-Con publicity stunts ever executed.10. Harrison Ford Escorted To The Stage In HandcuffsIn another case of best laid plans going awry, Harrison Ford’s first Comic-Con appearance was overshadowed by one of the most infamous moments to ever occur in Hall H. Shortly before Ford’s panel – a promotion for the in-production Cowboys and Aliens – was set to start, an argument over a seat at the back of Hall H turned into a violent scene with one man stabbing another in the eye with a pen-knife. The hall was locked down and programming delayed while San Diego police rushed in. The perpetrator was taken into the custody, the victim went to the hospital, and when the panel finally began, director Jon Favreau and Ford went ahead with a joke they planned long before the incident – Ford came onto stage in handcuffs and escorted by security. The idea: Ford had to be dragged from the set to make his first Comic-Con appearance. But thanks to the stabbing, the moment read in a very different light. It also eased the brewing tension in the hall that night.9. Ryan Reynolds Recites The Green Lantern OathThe 2011 Green Lantern film is little more than a punchline star Ryan Reynolds uses in other, better comic book movies. But before the film s fate was decided, it had its Comic-Con moment during a 2010 Hall H presentation when a little boy asked Reynolds what it felt like to recite the Green Lantern oath. After taking a moment compose himself, Reynolds said, it sounds a little something like this and recited the oath from memory. The boy, visibly moved by the performance, showed Reynolds his child-sized Green Lantern ring. The actor responded by showing off its big budget movie counterpart. Over the years, questions from children have led to man memorable moments, but few are as pure as this.8. Zack Snyder Shares A Dark Knight Moment From Batman v Superman(Photo by Albert L. Ortega/Getty Images)Back before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice divided online fandom, director Zack Snyder was happy to share a first look with fans in Hall H during the 2016 Warner Bros. Pictures presentation. The scene featured Ben Affleck’s Batman in an armored suit ready to go 10 rounds with the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill). The scene, heavily influenced by a similar sequence in Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns suggested a certain tone for the movie and a wish-fulfillment for the director. And for those in attendance, it sparked a hope about DC’s film universe which never quite came to fruition. But in that moment, all things seemed possible.7. The Ravagers Invade Marvel Studios 2015 PanelBefore we knew how important Taserface (Chris Sullivan) would be to the shape of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – a recurring punchline – Marvel brought Sullivan, along with the rest of the Ravagers, to the Hall H stage in full makeup. Emerging from the back of the hall, the group played at harassing fans and mocked the panel moderator from afar. When they finally made their way to the dais, Sullivan and Sean Gunn answered questions as Taserface and Kraglin in a routine far funnier than it had any right to be. In a presentation which featured the debut of the first footage from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Brie Larson’s first public appearance as a MCU cast member, it stands as the most delightful moment of that year, thanks mainly to Sullivan’s dedication as Taserface.6. The Iron Man TrailerBeginning a tradition which continues to this year – with a few pauses along the way – Marvel Studios brought its first clip to Comic-Con in 2007: a four minute version of the first Iron Man trailer. Extending some of the scenes in which Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) built his first suit in a cave with a box of scraps, the silence among the crowd (punctuated along with a few laughs thanks to Tony s quipping) lingers today as the palpable sense that this movie was different. The audience finally exploded into cheers when the Mark I Iron Man suit made its debut, confirming this was the film almost every comic book fan was waiting for. The intensity only grew as the trailer revealed the Mark III suit and Iron Man flying with an escort of fighter jets. An auspicious beginning to the studio s near-dominance of the convention in the years to come.5. Andrew Garfield Cosplays As Spider-Man To Crash A Panel(Photo by Wendy Redfern/Redferns/Getty Images)Hall H Q A sessions are known for awkward questions, the Button Lady, and the Hunter S. Thompson impersonator. But the single best Q A moment ever came in 2011 when The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield crashed the panel in a cheap Spider-Man costume complete with mask and a fanny pack. Playing the part of an eager fan, he told the crowd it was his dream to be in Hall H – as Spider-Man – with the cast and crew of the new Spider-Man movie. Then, he pulled off the mask to stun the audience. “I always wanted to come here as a fan,” he said after the reveal. “So here I am, as a fan.” But perhaps more affecting was his nervousness as he read a prepared statement about what Spider-Man meant to him. Beyond being a great Comic-Con moment, it may be the best moment in the whole Amazing Spider-Man endeavor.4. Loki Addresses The Hall H AudienceBut a few years later, Garfield’s moment would be superseded by the first of Marvel Studios in-character appearances. With the Hall H lights dimmed, the voice of Tom Hiddleston boomed, “Look how far you’ve fallen.” The cheers quickly rose as fans realized what was happening. And with a flash, Hiddleston was on stage in costume and in character as Loki. Proceeding to give a speech similar to the one in Marvel’s The Avengers, the God of Mischief commanded the Hall H crowd to swear their loyalty to him. In exchange, they would “feast” their eyes on Marvel Studios’ 2013 offerings. The clearly thrilled Hiddleston hammed it up, other key announcements were made during the panel, but Loki s speech still stands as the studio’s most successful Hall H stunt.3. Star Wars Debuts At Comic-ConLong before the Hall H spectacles, however, an upcoming film called Star Wars made a modest debut at the 1976 San Diego Comic-Con. Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin appeared to talk up their Marvel Comics adaptation with the movie while Lucasfilm rep Charles Lippincott showed stills from the film. While there were definitely empty seats, it would prove to be an influential hour as the con-goers in attendance witnessed a legit sneak peek of the film that would change everything. And that Comic-Con had it first tells you it was always capable of forecasting the next big pop culture thing; even in its earliest days.2. The Avengers Assemble(Photo by © Marvel Studios, © Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures)Saturday in Hall H during Comic-Con 2011 stands in memory for so many things. There was the stabbing, Harrison Ford’s appearance, the debut of footage from Cowboys Aliens, Captain America: The First Avenger – which had only begun shooting four days earlier – and the premiere of the 3D trailer for Thor. Then there came a teaser trailer in which the voice of Samuel L. Jackson told of the day when Earth s mightiest heroes would stand together as the Avengers. Afterward, the stars of Marvel’s The Avengers – Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Mark Ruffalo – assembled for the first time ever. Though they did not take questions, the audience was receptive to the moment while photographers blinded everyone in attendance. It was the capstone of the convention that year and the beginning of still so much to come.1. Twilight And Avatar Duke It Out Over Hall HBut one moment stands above all the others as the moment of Comic-Con. It was the event which changed the show from a celebration of the popular arts to the pop-culture event everyone wanted to be at: the announcement that The Twilight Saga: New Moon and James Cameron’s Avatar would appear back-to-back in Hall H during the 2009 convention. Originally, the Avatar presentation was scheduled first, but memories of the way Twilight fans camped out in Hall H in 2008 left Cameron’s fans in a tizzy, worried the Twilight fans and their dedication would mean missing 25 minutes of Avatar. Comic-Con switched the time slots with New Moon starting before Avatar, but it was indicative of the way the show was changing. Phenomena outside of comics were coming to San Diego and proving to be successful. Securing a Comic-Con badge became more difficult and camp-outs to get into Hall H became the norm. The modern excitement, and occasional frenzy, was born here. From then on, Hall H was really the place to be and line management became a pressing concern for convention organizers. For those of us on the ground, it was an amazing thing to witness and changed the way we planned for Comic-Con forever.Like this? The Role: Ma Rainey, the Mother of the Blues and leader of her band. The groundbreaking musician and LGBTQ icon was once dubbed the ugliest woman in show business, and with the aid of false teeth, horsehair wigs, elaborate gowns, and a fat suit, Oscar winner Viola Davis gave life to the woman whose voice would have hundreds queuing up for hours just hear her croon or catch a glimpse of her on stage. Davis embodied not just Rainey s presence on stage but also her steadfast determination not to allow anyone to diminish or dismiss her worth. The Odds: Currently, there isn t a clear frontrunner for Best Actress. Andra Day won the Golden Globe, Carey Mulligan took home the Critics Choice, and Frances McDormand won the BAFTA, but we are giving Viola Davis win at the SAG Awards the most weight and believe she will be our likely winner. This is fitting as her pedigree and previous Oscar nomination warrant it, and her only win was for a Supporting Role; she is more than overdue to win for a lead turn.Andra Day Tom Holland is riding high as Marvel Studios current live-action Spider-Man, but he is far from the first to slip on the Spidey suit. Some would say it was Tobey Maguire, with his three Spider-Man films directed by Sam Raimi, who kicked off the superhero movie era as we know it and respect must be paid; others would say Andrew Garfield was an underrated web-slinger who perhaps failed to soar less because of his performance than the movies that surrounded it. Others would counter with a GIF of Maguire dancing. We re here to settle the debate once and for all – at least Mark Ellis is. Our Vs. host is breaking down the Spider-Men by Tomatometer, box office, and the villains they faced to determine once and for all who wore it best – it being the blue-and-red suit, of course.Check out clips of some of Spider-Man s best moments.

在DNF手游当中,许多职业就是名副其实的土豪职业,作为平民玩家来说选择职业就非常重要了。下面凌晨就给大家带来DNF手游平民职业推荐。

RORAPP下载 ogical ones. Family comes in all shapes and forms, and I think that s beautifully portrayed in this story. Eve, who plays Bly Manor gardener Jamie, agrees: I think it s the connection that they all need. And they re all hoping for it, but don t realize they need it. It creeps up on them that they are a part of this [sort of] union they had no idea they were lacking. And that kind of completes them as human beings in a way. 3. There s a Lot Going On Behind Peter s Steely Gaze(Photo by EIKE SCHROTER/NETFLIX © 2020)One of the more secretive characters in the season is Peter Quint, played by Jackson-Cohen, whose performance in Hill House as the Crains damaged, drug-addicted son/brother Luke brought the actor wide acclaim. The character he plays in Bly Manor is vastly different.Described in Vanity Fair recently as a calculated business associate of the uncle s who tends to take whatever he wants from Bly Manor, regardless of permission, Peter was taken directly from The Turn of the Screw. He s still a man of mystery, however. When pressed about Peter s steely-eyed gaze in the show s official trailer, Jackson-Cohen sidestepped spoilers about his character and his relationship with Dani to reveal what makes his character s countenance so engaging. I was born looking like that, Jackson-Cohen joked, adding, Peter is a really, really interesting character — there are so many sides to him. You [eventually] get to see an awful lot more of where he s from, and why he s the way he is — I m really excited. 4. Bly Manor Was Just as Grand as It Looks on Screen (Photo by EIKE SCHROTER/NETFLIX © 2020)The Haunting of Hill House set the bar high for set design, especially considering what Flanagan and his crew accomplished in the installment s sixth episode, Two Storms. But given that the new series takes place in a completely new era and location, we asked just how grandiose and detailed the Bly Manor set was. The sets were absolutely [stunning], Eve, who plays gardener Jamie, said. We had the ground floor in one studio and the top floor in another studio and outside was a separate place, completely. But it certainly was still big that you felt the kind of the grandness of the house as you were walking through it. Miller, who appears as housekeeper Mrs. Grose, agreed, quoting one of this season s catchphrases: It really was perfectly splendid. The little details that we don t always get to see on screen — the art department did such an amazing job. The littlest of things that I recognized from my own childhood that were around in the ’80s, as well, the artwork, the furniture it was such a tactile set, and you just wanted to touch everything and open drawers and cabinets — and there were things in them! It was just a brilliant, great set. 5. The Series Is Too Scary for Amelie Bea Smith and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth To Watch(Photo by EIKE SCHROTER/NETFLIX © 2020)Amelie Bea Smith, best known as the voice of the titular character in animated hit Peppa Pig, and newcomer Benjamin Evan Ainsworth play the young siblings and were both thrilled when they learned they booked the roles. It was just one scene. It was one self-tape that we had to do, Ainsworth explained. There wasn t a callback or anything. Just straight to offer, which is so crazy and amazing. So that night, I was just so chuffed with myself and happy, and we were all celebrating, so it was really fun. As excited as the young actors were in booking these roles, they don t fall into Bly Manor s target demographic. Smith is just nine years old, and Ainsworth is a couple of years older. I think I m allowed to watch little bits of it, but I think I d be terrified watching some of it, because I don t watch many scary movies, the young actress said. It s not my cup of tea. The same is true for Ainsworth: I am so scared by scary movies. So I don t think I ll be allowed to watch them. [I was even] creeped out on set. 6. The Dolls Hold the Keys to Bly Manor s Secrets(Photo by EIKE SCHROTER/NETFLIX © 2020)Flanagan has previously talked about Bly Manor s dolls, telling Vanity Fair, I think for kids, it’s about control. Kids have such little agency. Dolls provide that. But there’s also a darker side to it. Ownership, claiming someone, ceasing to look at them as a human, and instead, looking at them as an object, as a doll…we can draw lines to all sorts of toxic romantic relationships that way, and get into gender politics and the objectification of women in particular by this genre.”Asked about the odd little toys in the series and the giant dollhouse she got to play with, Smith revealed their bigger purpose in the series: They re just really amazing little dolls. But the dollhouse, itself, is a clue to the whole house. It has lots of secrets and Flora uses it to protect everybody. 7. Mike Flanagan Has Built a Soul Family of His OwnLook at Flanagan s work over the past decade, and you ll see some faces pop up again and again. One example is his professional partnership with Thomas, who, aside from appearing in Bly Manor as estranged uncle Henry Wingrave, has played young Hugh Crain in The Haunting of Hill House, Tom in Netflix s Gerald s Game, and took on the iconic role of Jack Torrance in the big-screen adaptation of Doctor Sleep that Flanagan wrote and directed based Stephen King s sequel to The Shining.Flanagan s tendency to reuse talent on multiple projects is reminiscent of a theater troupe or a stage family, which lines up perfectly with the ongoing familial component featured throughout his work. It s beneficial because you re already comfortable,  Thomas said.  There s a trust there in the sense that he knows what I can do. I know how he works, and it s a very comfortable way to work, actually, as an actor. A lot of times, getting to know you might stretch into a whole shoot, in terms of director-actor relations. It s a really good feeling. And it s nice to kind of build a friendship with the people that you re working with. When you see each other again at work, it s like seeing your own family at the office. The Haunting of Bly Manor launches on Friday, October 9, on Netflix.Correction: The quote It was just one scene. It was one self-tape that we had to do   previously attributed to Smith has been corrected to be attributed to Ainsworth. On an Apple device? Follow Rotten Tomatoes on Apple News.
