While Marvel Studio pictures appear with a clockwork precision that only a worldwide pandemic could pause, Sony’s attempts to make use of the Spider-Man characters it controls have been less reliable. Amid multiple restarts, a long-in-the-works plan to make a Sinister Six movie, and a critical hack of Sony’s email system a few years back, it s no wonder they chose to ally with Marvel Studios to bring Spidey to the MCU.But Sony also continued to develop ideas independent of Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) trip to the larger Marvel world. Occasionally known as the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters, the concept finally clicked with the one-two punch of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Venom. Both were commercial successes and proved Sony could mount a Spider-Man(-adjacent) film without Marvel s help.Provided, of course, they’re still interested in going it alone. Now, after its own COVID delay, the first true installment of the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters begins with Venom: Let There Be Carnage. If the recently released trailer is any indication, it should succeed in similar ways to its predecessor despite a new creative at the helm (more on that in a moment), but will it truly set the, er, “SPUMC” reality apart from the MCU? Let’s take a look at what we know about Venom: Let There Be Carnage to see if we can discover where the film exists in the many Marvel Universes.Familiar Faces(Photo by ©Columbia Pictures)It is fair to say one of the primary reasons for the first Venom’s success was the surprising double act of Eddie Brock and the symbiote on his back known as Venom, both played by Tom Hardy; happily, Hardy was the first element secured for the sequel. Of course, these days, studios sign actors up for multi-picture deals just in case, but with Venom, Hardy’s return for Let There Be Carnage and an eventual third film is essential.Sure, Venom could find a new host. He has passed to others before, including Eddie’s ex-girlfriend Anne Weying (Michelle Williams), who also returns for Let There Be Carnage. Reid Scott also returns as Anne’s incredibly likable current boyfriend, Dr. Dan Lewis. And as the recent trailer made clear, Peggy Lu is back as neighborhood convenience store proprietor, Mrs. Chen – as it happens, she, Eddie, and Venom have worked out some sort of protection deal so she doesn’t get held up as often. Although, the trailer suggests that deal is still tenuous, as Venom is always looking to make a meal of the nearest non-Eddie human. And, oddly, that’s pretty much all the returning cast Sony could really import from the first film. Characters played by the likes of Riz Ahmed and Jenny Slate did not make it out of that story alive. That said, there is one character who made a brief appearance returning for the sequel in a big way. Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady – seen for a moment in Venom’s mid-credit stinger – is the primary antagonist this time around. From the trailer, it appears his execution date is approaching. It also seems it will not go well, as it activates another alien symbiote called Carnage.(Photo by Sony Pictures Entertainment)Or, at least, that’s one interpretation. In the comics, Carnage was the disregarded offspring of Venom who found a kindred spirit in serial killer Kasady. Together they did plenty of damage and battled Venom, Spider-Man, and anyone else who got in their way. It will be interesting to see if this Carnage is also the offspring of movie Venom and whether or not his initial indifference to his child will be a point of contention between him and Eddie. That said, now that they share Eddie s impossibly large San Francisco apartment, there still needs to be some conflict between them.Behind the camera, the producing team of Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, and Amy Pascal – of The Amazing Spider-Man duology return, as do Hardy and Kelly Marcel as executive producers. The Fresh Hosts(Photo by Sony Pictures Entertainment)Whether or not you consider Harrelson a new member of the cast, there are a handful of other freshmen to the Venom family. Naomie Harris joins up as Frances Barrison, a young woman whose encounter with the symbiote known as Shriek will lead her to Kasady before too long. Stephen Graham plays Mulligan, reportedly a detective looking to link Eddie to Kasady in the hopes of finding the location of victims the killer chose not to reveal although, in the comics, Mulligan has his own symbiote issues to deal with. Sean Delaney and Larry Olubamiwo are also set to appear in smaller roles. Delaney even claimed his is a literal blink-and-you ll-miss-it moment. But perhaps the biggest name to join the franchise is not a new actor, but the new director. Due to scheduling difficulties with his commitments to Zombieland: Double Tap, director Ruben Fleischer stepped away from Let There Be Carnage. Sony quickly launched a search for a new filmmaker and found Andy Serkis.Yes, you read that right, the man who brought Gollum to life in The Lord of the Rings trilogy directed Venom 2. As it happens, Serkis began directing features with the 2017 biopic Breathe, starring former Spider-Man Andrew Garfield. The next year, Netflix released his second film, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle – which had the misfortune of arriving on the scene after Jon Favreau’s remake of the Disney animated version. Nevertheless, Sony and the film’s producers went with him because of his extensive knowledge of motion capture technology and performance.(Photo by Priscilla Grant/Everett Collection)Backing Serkis up on screenwriting duties is Marcel, who replaces Jeff Pinker. The Saving Mr. Banks co-writer wrote the script after hashing out a story with fellow EP Hardy. Hutch Parker, a veteran of Fox Marvel movies like X-Men: Days of Future Past and Logan, is also an executive producer on the film. Other crewmembers include Breathe and Once Upon a Time … In Hollywood’s Robert Richardson as director of photography, production designer Oliver Scholl, and composer Marco Beltrami. This new company of talents will tell a further tale of Eddie and Venom becoming besties – in fact, Tolmach, Hardy, and Fleischer (before he confirmed his departure) all emphasized the buddy movie feeling would be amplified this time around. Meanwhile, they will also have to face the threat of Carnage, Shriek, and whatever other symbiote terrors may yet emerge as part of the plot. Thanks to Venom’s popularity in the 1990s and today, there are plenty of his fellow goo-monsters out there waiting for their chance on the big screen.Well, provided Venom doesn’t face Peter Parker first. The Madness of the Marvel Multiverse(Photo by Sony Pictures Entertainment)Eagle-eyed watchers of the Let There Be Carnage trailer took note of a partially obscured headline during a shot in which Graham’s detective character is reading the Daily Bugle: “ENGERS L IGHT M.” The potential meaning of the first word in that headline is clear Marvel superheroes exist in Venom’s world. But are they same Av- ENGERS we’ve come to love thanks to films like Iron Man and Guardians of the Galaxy? After a contentious renegotiation of the film rights to Spider-Man in 2019, it is unclear if Disney and Sony are chummy enough to share characters with more abandon. But at the same time, a 2020 trailer for the much-delayed SPUMC film Morbius (read more about that here) featured references to Spidey’s current problems in the MCU and an appearance by Michael Keaton as (presumably) Adrian Toomes from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Also, Serkis has said the characters in Venom are aware of Spider-Man, and more recently, Sony struck a deal to bring the Spider-Man films to Disney+, so the relationship may be warm enough for more cross-company cooperation.(Photo by Sony Pictures Entertainment)Oh, but then there’s the Bugle itself. Since the newspaper is part of the wider Spider-Man license, it did not appear in the MCU until the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, where it was the name of J. Jonah Jameson’s (J.K. Simmons) conspiracy theory website. The Bugle s usual print dimensions and trade dress in the the Carnage trailer suggests we are still dealing with two separate film universes. To a certain extent, the Carnage and Morbius trailers are having a laugh with the asides to the MCU, but it is also possible a clearer narrative understanding will come to light once Spider-Man: No Way Home is released in December. Since that film will feature appearances by Sony Spider-Man characters like Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), Electro (Jamie Foxx), and further references to the Multiverse, it is not outside the realm of possibility that Let There Be Carnage’s relative distance from the MCU will be explored in some way. At the moment, we’re inclined to believe Eddie and Venom’s adventure occur in a universe or two away from the prime MCU reality, but it could be the place Peter ends up calling home. That’s probably a good thing, as there are five other live-action Spider-Man related projects at Sony in need of a webslinger to tie the whole thing together. As for now, Let There Be Carnage’s references to Spider-Men and the Avengers will probably remain joke fodder.Venom: Let There Be Carnage releases on September 24, 2021.Thumbnail image by Sony Pictures EntertainmentOn an Apple device? A second season has been in production for some time and it seems the characters have a clear objective. Or do they? As many have been saying since The Child first appeared in the floating crib and was dubbed Baby Yoda by fans, the show has a certain Lone Wolf Cub vibe — particularly as it spent most of its first season wandering the galaxy without a seeming endgame in mind. But what does the future hold for series as Din Djarin (The Mandalorian s true name) and the unnamed child search the galaxy for the latter s homeland? Let’s take a look at five possible directions The Mandalorian could take in its second season.More Wandering the Galaxy(Photo by Disney+)While some found The Mandalorian s format a little too episodic, it allowed for several episodes to be Star Wars short films handled by directors like Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow, and Rick Famuyiwa. And, honestly, we wouldn t mind if the show kept that format a little longer. It honors the nature of the Lone Wolf Cub manga while giving talented filmmakers the chance to examine seldom-seen corners of the Star Wars Galaxy. Who knew we needed its take on Seven Samurai before The Sanctuary ? And who knew a fight between a Mando and a Jawa sandcrawler would be so essential before Famuyiwa put it to screen? These stories needed the self-contained format to flourish. As creator Jon Favreau said from the get-go, the show was meant to highlight new aliens and new characters, and it definitely did that while still feeling part of the Star Wars milieu by letting Djarin roam. And with Favreau and occasional star Carl Weathers joining the directors ranks in season 2, it seems that self-contained stories will continue into the show s future. That said, it seems unlikely that Djarin s wandering will be as directionless as it was this season. With Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) at his back and that gang of thieves from The Prisoner looking for revenge — provided they escape the prison barge in quick order — it is possible The Mandalorian and his foundling son will face the past a lot more often.Back to Navarro(Photo by Disney+)Considering both Weathers and Gina Carano will return as Greef Carga and Cara Dune, the continued defense of the planet Navarro will be a recurring theme. For one thing, the Mandalorian Armorer s (Emily Swallow) refusal to leave the culvert means the planet will still be a meeting spot for wayward Mandos. For another, the disposal of the Imperial Remnant on the planet makes it a prime target for other former Imps looking to become warlords. It also, oddly enough, becomes a world the New Republic can approach to extend its sphere of influence into the Outer Rim. And even if we know the Republic s fate 25 years later, there is story to tell in its potential failure to bring peace and justice to the Outer Rim, just like the Empire and Old Republic before it.On a more personal scale, the arrival of another Imperial faction or a New Republic contingent could shed more light on Carga and Dune s pasts. Gideon offered tantalizing details like Dune s Alderaan ancestry and Carga s history as a disgraced magistrate. Was he an Imp himself? We have to admit, there s a lot of story to mine in survivors from Alderaan. Are they as dispersed as the Mandalorians or did they center around Leia Organa and remain core members of the Alliance and the New Republic? And if the latter is the case, why was Dune unable to hold onto that sense of community? Was her homeworld already a distant memory before it was destroyed? An Exploration of Mandalore(Photo by Disney+)With the Darksaber making its first live-action appearance and references to both Mandalore the Great and the Jedi/Mando conflict which led to Darth Revan s attempt to control the galaxy, it almost seems like a visit to the planet Mandalore is inevitable. The world offers so many mysteries in terms of the lore. For one thing: The Way of Djarin s tribe is different from the Mandalorian clans seen in both Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. Something changed during the Galactic Civil War that led the surviving Mandos to adopt the policy about their helmets — or reclaim an older belief about their warrior religion. But as this change (and the Great Purge) occurred in Djarin s lifetime, there may be Mandalorians still alive who do not adhere to the Way.Which leads us to Sabine Wren and the final moments of Rebels — not that we re expecting Favreau to follow up on that scene s promise. She is, nevertheless, a wrinkle in The Mandalorian’s story, because she has no problem taking of her helmet after the Battle of Endor and once held the Darksaber in her hands. And now that we ve seen the Darksaber in Gideon s possession, certain questions come into play. Add to this the continued presence of Rebels creator Dave Filoni as Favreau s key collaborator, and it seems obvious Djarin will have to face the history of his adopted culture. Then there s that seemingly deleted scene in which Fennec (Ming-Na Wen) told The Mandalorian that he could become a legend. Is it possible he will take possession of the Darksaber and attempt to unite the clans, like Bo-Katan Kryze before him?A Search for The Child s Home(Photo by Disney+)Now that The Child is a foundling, Djarin has a duty to find his rightful home or train the creature in accordance with the Way. This would presumably fuel the wandering in season 2 as he looks for some information regarding The Child s species and planet of origin. To which, we say, good luck!Yoda s species is one of the few remaining mysteries in Star Wars’s incredibly rich lore. Prior to Djarin finding the child, only five other members of species had been seen in Star Wars material: Yoda, Yaddle in Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, Vandar Tokare in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games, Oteg in the Star Wars: The Old Republic Massive Multiplayer Online game, and Minch in the short story Heart of Darkness. Each are small in stature, but great in power, as they were all greatly attuned to the Force and became Jedis.According to Wookiepedia, creator George Lucas declined to create any detail history for Yoda or his species, simply referring to him as a frog or joking he was the illegitimate son of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Considering the way just about every other Star Wars alien and character has been fleshed out in Expanded Universe or Legends material, this omission would seem very deliberate. At one time, rumors indicated Lucas was developing a Yoda-centered Star Wars film, but all of that fell away when he sold Lucasfilm to Disney. The omission offers Favreau (and Filoni for that matter) the chance to generate some concrete details about the species.Well, that s assuming they really want to get specific. Singling out Yoda s species as something enigmatic maintains the mystery he initially held in The Empire Strikes Back. And as we ve learned over the years, sometimes Star Wars mysteries should remain unsolved.Curiously, the Wookiepedia also refers to Yoda attaining the rank of Jedi Master at age 100, which suggests The Child may become more hearty and capable of learning the Way sooner than Djarin thinks.A Jaunt to Coruscant(Photo by 20th Century Fox)While no longer the galactic capital — the New Republic would choose to move the Senate and executive seat on a rotating basis — Coruscant could easily be one of the places Djarin visits in his search for answers. Presumably, records still exist there and even the ruins of the old Jedi Temple may offer some hints as to The Child s origins. But beyond plot details, visiting Coruscant in The Mandalorian’s era may prove more interesting than his short stay on Tatooine. Is it still a world on the go? Does it still have spectacular night life and a heavy death-stick trade? Or did the Empire make it a silent planet of Sith worshipers? In terms of established canon following the Battle of Endor, it should be an occupied world, with Gran Vizier Mas Amedda (the blue alien who shouted order! during Senate sessions in the prequels) acting as a puppet governor on behalf of the New Republic. That in itself offers some intriguing story possibilities, as Djarin must eventually confront the Republic in his travels. Will the representatives of the new government turn out to be as corrupt and/or incompetent as the Imps? But really, Coruscant represents any previously seen Star Wars world Favreau and his collaborators may want to visit. Now that the show has proved it can expand the universe with new characters and locales, it be afforded a certain license to feature places like Nar Shaddaa, Nal Hutta, Dantooine, Lothal, Crait, and Mandalore. If the show adopts a tighter narrative in its search for The Child s origins, a blend of worlds both new and old — or some only featured in games, cartoons, and comics — will continue The Mandalorian’s expert mix of established Star Wars elements and fantastic new ideas. What more could anyone want from a Star Wars television show? The Mandalorian season 1 is available to stream in its entirety on Disney+.

4. 呼朋唤友 随心所欲
This week s Ketchup brings you more headlines from the world of film development news, covering such titles as Borderlands and Spy Kids, as well as a few reunion projects. This WEEK S TOP STORYKEVIN HART JOINS CATE BLANCHETT IN THE BORDERLANDS VIDEO GAME ADAPTATION(Photo by ©Warner Bros. Pictures)If one wanted to find a common theme for Kevin Hart s movie career, he has twice now proven himself adept at finding a straight man to be his big screen partner, first with Ice Cube (Ride Along, Ride Along 2) and then Dwayne Johnson in the recent Jumanji movies. In a move that pretty much no one saw coming, it now looks like Kevin Hart s next movie partner might be Cate Blanchett. Inasmuch as that pairing might be against type, the whole movie might be playing into that theme, because what we re talking about is the video game adaptation Borderlands. Blanchett is attached to star as Lilith, The Siren, and Kevin Hart s character will be Roland, The Soldier. Roland and Lilith frequently partner together in the various Borderlands narratives, but they also have a few other crew members yet to be cast. Borderlands will be directed by Eli Roth, who is best known for his work in horror like Cabin Fever and Hostel, but he s also branched into other genres like he did with the kids movie The House with a Clock in its Walls (also starring Blanchett). Borderlands, its prequel, and sequels have earned over billion in game sales.Other Top Headlines1. DARREN ARONOFSKY TO SET JARED LETO ADRIFT(Photo by Derek Storm/Everett Collection)It doesn t happen that often, but every once in a while, we will hear about a new movie project with a certain title even though there was just another movie with the exact same title not that long ago. Shailene Woodley s survival drama Adrift (Fresh at 69%) just came out three years ago, but yes, we re already getting another Adrift. Jared Leto is now attached to star in a thriller called Adrift which will reunite him with Darren Aronofsky, his director on the addiction thriller Requiem for a Dream ( Certified Fresh at 79%). Adrift is described as being a thriller about a ghost ship based on a short story by Koji Suzuki, who also wrote the inspiration for Ringu (The Ring) (Fresh at 97%). It s important to note, however, that this will not be Aronofsky s next film, as that s already confirmed to be the recently announced overeating drama The Whale, starring Brendan Fraser.2. MICHELLE WILLIAMS TO REUNITE WITH KELLY REICHARDT FOR FOURTH FILM TOGETHER(Photo by Jim Spellman/Getty Images)If there is just one director that is most closely connected to the film career of actress Michelle Williams, it s probably Kelly Reichardt, who has previously cast Williams in Wendy Lucy (Certified Fresh at 85%), Meek s Cutoff (Certified Fresh at 86%), and Certain Women (Certified Fresh at 92%). Williams and Reichardt are now reuniting for an A24 movie called Showing Up, which is a bit of a departure for Reichardt, as it s described as a comedy (Reichardt s movies not super funny.) Williams will reportedly star as an artist on the verge of a career-changing exhibition who has to navigate friends, family and colleagues in the lead-up to her show. Reichardt s most recent film was last year s First Cow (Certified Fresh at 96%), which was a festival darling and has earned a handful of honors so far this awards season.3. TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET JOINS LUCA GUADAGNINO S HORROR ROMANCE BONES ALL(Photo by Jason Smith/Everett Collection)We ve known almost since Call Me By Your Name came out that director Luca Guadignino is developing a sequel, but recent news concerning Armie Hammer suggests why that movie might be put on hold for a bit. Instead, Guadagnino and his other Call Me By Your Name star, Timothée Chalamet, are now considering reuniting for a completely different movie project. Chalamet is now in talks to star in Guadagnino s horror romance Bones All, which has been speculated to involve cannibalism.4. PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN STAR CAREY MULLIGAN SCRATCHES FINGERNAILS Ryan FujitaniAlthough COVID-19 has obviously impacted this year s awards season harshly, it is still technically happening, and one of the top contenders this year is the indie thriller Promising Young Woman (Certified Fresh at 91%), starring Carey Mulligan. While she waits to see how things pan out for her this season, Mulligan has signed to star in a project called Fingernails, which will be the English language debut of Greek filmmaker Christos Nikou (Apples). Another major actress involved with Fingernails is Cate Blanchett, who is serving as one of the film s producers. Christos Nikou is reportedly still working on the Fingernails screenplay, which will reportedly be about a woman who starts to wonder if her relationship with her longtime partner is real, leading her to work at a mysterious institute designed to incite and test the presence of romantic love in increasingly desperate couples. That premise sounds a bit like The Lobster, which was also directed by a Greek filmmaker, Yorgos Lanthimos.5. DRACULA SPINOFF LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER FINALLY SETS SAIL (Photo by ©Columbia Pictures)One of the odd quirks movie development is that some films take years and years to get produced, and along the way, some just never happen at all. One project that has taken its time is the horror film Last Voyage of the Demeter, which is based on one small part of Bram Stoker s original vampire novel Dracula and which has been in development at least as far back as 2010. In Dracula, the Demeter was the Russian ship that actually transported Dracula and his coffin from Transylvania to England. Last Voyage of the Demeter looks like it s finally happening, though, with Corey Hawkins now set to star for director Andre Øvredal (Trollhunter, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark). Bram Stoker s novel leaves the exact circumstances of what happened on the Demeter a mystery, except that when the boat finally landed in England, it was empty. Last Voyage of the Demeter is being produced by Steven Spielberg s Amblin Partners, but Spielberg himself is not credited as one of its producers.6. THE CROWN STAR CLAIRE FOY GOES FISHING FOR LOVE IN THE PISCES (Photo by Laurie Sparham/©Bleecker Street Media) Surprise wins have become a common theme at recent Academy Awards ceremonies (we re thinking here of Spotlight, Moonlight, and Parasite), but there is an argument to be made that no recent Best Picture winner was quite as unexpected as Guillermo del Toro s merman romance The Shape of Water, especially given its monster movie character design and roots in GDT s love for Creature from the Black Lagoon. Mermaids have a long history of appearing in movies, and Disney itself is currently producing their own live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, but this week, we also learned of a movie that seems more inspired by The Shape of Water. Claire Foy, who may be best known as the first actress to star as Queen Elizabeth II on hit Netflix series The Crown, is now set to star in The Pisces, an adaptation of the Melissa Broder novel about a PhD student who falls in love with a merman. The Pisces will be directed by Gillian Robespierre, who is currently best known for her acclaimed collaborations with Jenny Slate (Obvious Child, Landline), which may offer some insight into the tone of the film.7. ETHAN HAWKE ANSWERS THE BLACK PHONE FOR SCOTT DERRICKSON(Photo by Lev Radin/Everett Collection)Movie stars reuniting with directors was clearly a theme this week. Adding to the list is Ethan Hawke, who has joined the cast of a film called The Black Phone, starring Jeremy Davies (TV s LOST and Justified) and directed by Scott Derrickson (Marvel s Doctor Strange), the latter of whom previously worked with Hawke on his directorial debut, the 2012 horror film Sinister. The Black Phone will also be Hawke s ninth project with producer Jason Blum (of Blumhouse), following movies like The Purge (and, briefly, its TV spinoff) and the upcoming Showtime series The Good Lord Bird. Ethan Hawke will also soon be seen in the Vikings drama The Northman and the Disney+ series Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac.8. READY OR NOT STAR SAMARA WEAVING TO PLAY NAPOLEON S SISTER-IN-LAW LIZ(Photo by Priscilla Grant/Everett Collection)One of the all-time greats in the realm of Hollywood what-ifs involves Stanley Kubrick s attempts to direct a biopic of French conqueror Napoleon Bonaparte, with Jack Nicholson long attached to star. We re talking here about what would have been a major 1970s epic, which means that was over 40 years ago, and yet here we are, and Hollywood has yet to return to the famous historical figure. Instead, we re it looks like we re going to get a biopic about a completely different Bonaparte. Liz will be an indie drama about American socialite Elizabeth Patterson Bonaparte, A.K.A. Napoleon Bonaparte s sister-in-law by way of his younger brother Jerome. Samara Weaving, who is probably best known for her role in the 2019 horror comedy Ready or Not (Certified Fresh at 88%), is now attached to star as the titular character in Liz, which will be directed by Adam Leon, whose previous credits include the indie films Tramps and Gimme the Loot.9. ROBERT RODRIGUEZ WANTS TO REBOOT SPY KIDS(Photo by Gabriel Olsen/Getty Images)Director Robert Rodriguez recently returned to the world of his 2005 movie The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl (Rotten at 19%) for the Netflix sequel We Can Be Heroes (Fresh at 73%). Now that he s done with that particular revisit, he s planning something similar for the Spy Kids franchise, as he has optioned the rights to reimagine Spy Kids, which he will both write and direct. The new Spy Kids project is also a collaboration between Spyglass Media Group (which owns the franchise rights) and Skydance Media, a company that has co-produced recent Tom Cruise movies like Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (Rotten at 37%), Mission:

7.65.3 5月喜迎作为一个武侠游戏的忠实粉丝,我也在开服的第一时间进去体验了一番。在爆肝一个通宵后,总算明白为什么这款游戏会如此火爆。那么,《剑网1:归来》手游到底给玩家带来了一个怎样的武侠江湖呢?
urth highest-grossing film of the year, and it certainly has its eye on third place. Second, however, could take a bit of work. Last weekend with an opening that rose above 0 million, the fourth Toy Story was ahead of the third film in the franchise by about million. At the end of this weekend, it is still ahead of Toy Story 3’s pace by about million even if it trails weekend two of part three .3 million to .9 million. Toy Story 3 had a run that did not see a drop of 50 percent until its 13th weekend. Part four dropped 52 percent this weekend, but also had farther to fall. The 2010 chapter fell 46.2 percent and 49 percent in its second and third weekends. Meanwhile, Toy Story 4 sits at 6 million domestic and 6 million worldwide; the sixth-highest total of 2019 to date. Of the 14 films to gross between 0-250 million after 10 days, only three of them (The Hunger Games, Spider-Man, and Toy Story 3) broke the 0 million domestic mark, but Toy Story 4 remains on track.Fresh Surprise: Yesterday Poised To Be One of Danny Boyle’s Highest Grossers(Photo by Universal Pictures)It may sound surprising to some, but Yesterday actually represents the best opening of director Danny Boyle’s career. Then again, it is only the fourth film in his career — on that has included Transpotting, 127 Hours, and Slumdog Millionaire — to open wide its first weekend. The last film of his to do that was 28 Days Later back in 2003, and it earned million. The Beach in 2000 was his previous high with .2 million, even if it remains his lowest scored film on the Tomatometer at 20% and just one of two Rotten films (including A Life Less Ordinary) in his filmography. With a 59% rating currently, Yesterday teeters on the edge of Fresh, but Universal is very likely more interested in the film s million start. (The studio partnered with Boyle on 2015’s Steve Jobs, which opened strong in four theaters but ultimately grossed just .7 million total.) Boyle’s Oscar-winning Slumdog is his crowning box office achievement with over 1 million, but it is also just one of three of his films to gross over million. Yesterday will be the fourth. Will the million–budgeted film have enough word-of-mouth to pass The Beach’s million?Top 10 and Beyond: Latest Annabelle Film Lags the First Two(Photo by New Line Cinema)Annabelle Comes Home opened this past Wednesday to .18 million. As of Sunday, it is estimated to have made .2 million, which is relatively low all things considered. Of the previous Wednesday openers that began with million or more, 47 Ronin (.61 million), Rocky Balboa (.85), The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (.36), and Magic Mike XXL (.89) were the only ones this century to not have million by Sunday. Annabelle Comes Home is the next-lowest after that with The First Purge coming in at .28 million. The first Annabelle made .11 million in its first five days. Annabelle: Creation made .15 million. They both opened on Fridays. Those other three films grossed million to million domestic. The million production has already grossed over million globally, so it is going to be just fine.Eight of the top 10 films this week are either sequels or remakes. John Wick Chapter 3 – Parabellum is approaching 0 million worldwide. It is also Keanu Reeves’ third highest–grossing live-action film after the first two Matrix films. Illuminations’ The Secret Life of Pets 2 has not picked up any international steam yet and is only at 8 million worldwide. Its path is similar to that of this summer’s Pokemon Detective Pikachu and is headed for somewhere between 1 million and 4 million — or, less than 0 million domestically below the first film. Men in Black International is doing better internationally, but much more poorly here. It is only at 9 million worldwide and still needs another 1 million to break even. The remake of Child’s Play cost 0 million less than MIBI, but is not exactly setting the box office on fire either after dropping 70 percent in its second weekend and stands at million.Far more successful is Paramount’s Rocketman. The million production has made over million domestic and 1 million worldwide — 0 million may be off the table now but it remains on track to exceed million. Disney’s Aladdin has crossed 0 million domestically, and its 4 million globally puts it in 63rd place all-time. It needs another million to break into the top 50.Lastly, we have the Avengers: Endgame record watch. Returning to theaters this weekend with new footage not seen in its first nine weeks, the Marvel title made another .9 million. At .76 billion worldwide, it is now million shy of Avatar’s all-time record. This Time Last Year: Dinos Superheroes Emerge Victorious(Photo by Universal Pictures)Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom had no challengers and won the box office for a second straight weekend with .9 million. Incredibles 2 also had nothing to threaten its second-place finish with .4 million, bringing its total to over 0 million. The best the week could offer was the sequel, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, which opened in third with million. Also opening was the basketball comedy, Uncle Drew, which finished fourth with .2 million. The lackluster numbers below that title opened the door for Hindi film Sanju to finish in eighth place with .72 million. The Top 10 totaled 7.20 million and averaged 63% on the Tomatometer. This year’s Top 10 grossed an estimated 5.14 million and averaged 69%.On the Vine: Spider-Man Hopes for Avengers Bump, While Midsommar Chases Critical Acclaim(Photo by Sony Pictures)The next chapter of the MCU arrives when Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Will this film receive the same kind of box office bump that got Iron Man 3 over 0 million as the first one out of the gate after the success of the 2012 Avengers film? It currently has a 91% on the Tomatometer. (Spider-Man: Homecoming has a 92%, opened at 7 million, and went on to make 0 million worldwide.)Then Ari Aster returns with a new horror epic after the praise of last year’s debut, Hereditary, one of the 10 best-reviewed horror films of the decade. Based on the 85% that Midsommar has received so far, Aster (like Jordan Peele) has a shot to own two films on that list. The Full Top 10: June 28-30Toy Story 4 (2019) 97% – .93 million (6.92 million total)Annabelle Comes Home (2019) 65% – .37 million (.20 million total)Yesterday (2019) 63% – million ( million total)Aladdin (2019) 57% – .34 million (5.86 million total)The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019) 60% – .09 million (1.20 million total)Men in Black: International (2019) 23% – .55 million (.00 million total)Avengers: Endgame (2019) 94% – .53 million (1.31 million total)Child's Play (2019) 64% – .27 million (.40 million total)Rocketman (2019) 89% – .87 million (.17 million total)John Wick: Chapter 3 -- Parabellum (2019) 89% – .17 million (1.31 million total)

Ghcxuf It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that a film from the Harry Potter universe is the most anticipated of November, but it wasn’t quite the runaway favorite one might have assumed it would be. See, there’s also a sequel in the Rocky universe coming this month, as well as a rock biopic of a legendary band and its iconic frontman. This month’s poll also featured a tie between a couple of animated films and a J.J. Abrams-produced horror thriller, so there’s a little something for everyone. Read on to see the Most Anticipated Movies of November!1. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) 36%(Photo by Warner Bros. Pictures)3,619 Want-to-See Votes#1 pick by our Twitter and Instagram fans, #3 pick by our Facebook fansOpens November 16If you didn t see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, you should probably watch it before you head into The Crimes of Grindelwald, because the plot of the latter hinges largely on a spoilery twist at the end of the former. That said, Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston return for this follow-up, joined by Jude Law as a young Dumbledore and Johnny Depp as the nefarious Gellert Grindelwald. This one rated high on all of our social platforms and on our site, which wasn t too much of a surprise.Watch Trailer2. Creed II (2018) 83%(Photo by MGM, Warner Bros. Pictures)472 Want-to-See Votes#1 pick by our Facebook fans, #2 pick by our Twitter fans, #3 pick by our Instagram fansOpens November 21In 2015, Ryan Coogler s Creed became an Oscar-nominated hit, ensuring the Rocky franchise would continue through Michael B. Jordan s Adonis Creed, the son of the late Apollo Creed. In this sequel, directed by Steven Caple Jr., Adonis faces off against the son of Ivan Drago, the same Russian boxer who killed his father. This film also ranked high among all of our social media fans, but couldn t quite match Fantastic Beasts.Watch Trailer3. Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) 60%(Photo by Nick Delaney/20th Century Fox Film Corp.)2,880 Want-to-See Votes#2 pick by our Facebook fans, #4 pick by our Twitter and Instagram fansOpens November 2Despite all of the behind-the-scenes troubles Bohemian Rhapsody faced, expectant fans of rock band Queen remained optimistic, and judging from the reviews, there s a lot to like in this profile of the band and Freddie Mercury. In particular, look for an impressive performance from Rami Malek as Mercury and an exhilarating climactic recreation of Queen s appearance at Live Aid in 1985. It didn t rank as high as Creed II on our social platforms, but its popularity on our site placed it right behind it at #3.Watch Trailer4. Overlord (2018) 81%(Photo by Paramount Pictures)363 Want-to-See Votes#2 pick by our Instagram fans, #4 pick by our Facebook fansOpens November 9Anytime J.J. Abrams name pops up in the background of a mysterious project, you can count on certain movie fans to begin speculating on whether or not it s part of the Cloverfield universe. This time, it s a World War II horror-thriller about a group of soldiers who come across a secret Nazi lab full of monsters. Overlord (and the rest of the films in November, really) had no chance against the top 3 choices, but it did well enough on Instagram and Facebook to make it to our fourth slot, and it s already tracking impressively high on the Tomatometer.Watch Trailer5a. Ralph Breaks the Internet (2018) 88%(Photo by Walt Disney Studios)1,251 Want-to-See Votes#5 pick by our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram fansOpens November 21The fifth most anticipated movie of November is actually a tie between two animated films  Ralph Breaks the Internet happened to sneak into the top 5 in all of our social media polls, and it pulled the fourth most Want-to-See votes. John C. Reilly and Sarah Silverman return to voice Ralph and Princess Vanellope, who are joined by the likes of Gal Gadot and Taraji P. Henson, as well as a slew of Disney Princesses.Watch Trailer5b. Dr. Seuss' The Grinch (2018) 59%(Photo by Universal Pictures)8,030 Want-to-See VotesOpens November 9The other animated film that snuck onto our list actually made it in surprising fashion: though it barely registered on our social media channels, The Grinch unexpectedly garnered the most Want-to-See votes on Rotten Tomatoes of any film opening in November, more than doubling that of Fantastic Beasts, which came in second behind it. Universal s new adaptation of the classic Dr. Seuss story looks to capitalize on the warm holiday fuzzies as a bit of counterprogramming when it opens against gritty adult titles like The Girl in the Spider s Web and Overlord.Watch Trailer 😈😈
