线上娱乐下载采用百度引擎8（Baidu 7）(Photo by Xenon)Of the legion of comedic characters penned – and in many cases also played – by the late Mexican entertainment wizard Roberto Gómez Bolaños, better known as “Chespirito,” his most widely beloved are those who feature in El Chavo del Ocho, an iconic pillar of Latino pop culture.First aired in the early 1970s on Televisa, the Mexican media empire behind all of Chespirito’s shows and which later distributed them internationally, the sitcom rapidly achieved stratospheric popularity across Latin America; at the height of its success it reached an average of 350 million viewers per episode. Long in syndication in many countries, including the United States via Univision’s channels, the show continues to enjoy a vast multigenerational fanbase half a century later. Its impact among Latinos in the U.S. is such that in 2016 the city of Los Angeles declared September 8 as “El Chavo del Ocho Day.”Why is the series and its creator so peerlessly cherished among Latinos? With El Chavo del Ocho, Chespirito gifted us a story that communicates across ages, income levels, and even borders – all via the unifying power of hilarity.Dressed in worn-out khaki pants, a striped shirt, suspenders, and a tartan hat with earflaps, the title character of El Chavo del Ocho, El Chavo, is a young and poor orphan whom the neighbors assume lives in a barrel in the courtyard of a working-class apartment complex, or “vecindad.” As with all the child roles in the show, El Chavo is played by an adult, Chespirito himself, who leans into the character’s kindheartedness and mischievousness. There’s an underlying sadness to El Chavo’s circumstances and history of abandonment, which Chespirito doesn’t entirely shy away from (there are touching moments throughout the series’ numerous episodes), but it is infused with humor, much of it drawn from the character’s interaction with the neighbors who come to tacitly adopt him. Part of the show’s brilliance lies in the creation of these supporting personalities with whom Chespirito populates El Chavo’s world. Each of them was sharply drawn and had their own catchphrases that have become ingrained in the Mexican and Latin American vernacular. Over the years, the cast became almost inextricable from their parts.Stamps made to commemorate Bolaños s characters, El Chavo and Chapulin Colorado. (Photo by SUSANA GONZALEZ/AFP via Getty Images)There’s La Chilindrina (María Antonieta de las Nieves), a freckled and astute girl who knows how to manipulate her father Don Ramón (Ramón Valdés), a grumpy middle-aged and out-of-work scoundrel; Quico (Carlos Villagrán), a spoiled brat whose big cheeks impede his speech; his uptight and hair-rollers–wearing mother Doña Florinda (Florinda Meza); and her love interest El Profesor Jirafales (Rubén Aguirre), an elementary school teacher whose last name alludes to his giraffe-like lankiness. With its endearing relationships and absurdist shenanigans, El Chavo del Ocho amused audiences across the socioeconomic strata. However, it was particularly relatable to those of us of with low-income upbringings. We saw Quico getting a slew of wonderful toys for Christmas, while La Chilindrina had a single doll and El Chavo spent the holiday empty-handed. We then cheered as our hero took every opportunity he could to get his hands on food, especially if it was a ham sandwich (torta de jamón), because he didn’t know when his next meal would be.While the social classes of the characters, and the nuanced differences of circumstances between them, are made evident and form part of the mechanics of the story, El Chavo and his struggling neighbors had a sense of pride. In fact, a lot of the gags come from these individuals not allowing themselves to be undermined or humiliated by those with more resources, like Doña Florinda. She doesn t mince words when it comes to her disdain for the others and advises Quico to “not hang out with the riffraff ” – or as she would say it, “la chusma.”Although the show’s

Director Chad Stahelski has spent most of that time working on the John Wick franchise, including next year s John Wick: Chapter 4 (5/27/2022), but this week, we learned of a new project. Following the critical and box office successes of Pokemon Detective Pikachu (Fresh at 67%) and Sonic the Hedgehog (Fresh at 63%), Hollywood is increasingly looking at other video game adaptations, and so Chad Stahelski is now attached to direct Sony Pictures Ghost of Tsushima, based on the popular 2020 samurai video game. Ghost of Tsushima now joins a slate of video game adaptations that Sony Pictures has in the works that includes Uncharted (2/11/2022) starring Tom Holland, Metal Gear Solid starring Oscar Isaac, and The Last of Us as a series for HBO Max. Other projects that Stahelski is developing include a Highlander reboot and the John Wick spinoff Ballerina.Other Top Headlines1. THE SUICIDE SQUAD TRAILER REVEALS JAWS-SIZED SYLVESTER STALLONE ROLE (Photo by Warner Bros. Pictures)The arrival last week of Zack Snyder s Justice League (Fresh at 73%) seems to have put an end-of-sentence period on one part of the DC Extended Universe as Warner Bros. prepares to move on to other movies like The Flash (11/4/2022) and this year s The Suicide Squad (8/6/2021), which ended up being directed by James Gunn following a brief kerfuffle over Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2018. Warner Bros. quickly swooped in and nabbed Gunn, and this week, the first (red band) trailer The Suicide Squad debuted online. In addition to all of these cool character posters and the reveal of Starro as the movie s main super villain threat, we also now know that King Shark will be voiced by Sylvester Stallone, who had a brief cameo in Gunn s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. The timing of this trailer comes just days after WarnerMedia Studios CEO Ann Sarnoff confirmed that there are no plans to revisit David Ayer s Suicide Squad (reportedly Ayer s original take was darker in tone than the released edit) in a way similar to Zack Snyder s Justice League, and also that there are no plans to #RestoreTheSynderVerse either. Finally, speaking of DC Comics movies that aren t going to happen, Joe Manganiello confirmed this week that the solo Ben Affleck Batman movie, if it had happened, would not only have featured him as the anti-hero Deathstroke, but would also have introduced a new Batgirl as Batman s sidekick.2. PIERCE BROSNAN CAST AS DC COMICS SORCERER DOCTOR FATE IN BLACK ADAM (Photo by Jonathan Prime/©Universal Studios)Going as far back as the 1940s, when Aquaman was introduced two years after Marvel s Sub-Mariner was a big hit first, DC Comics and Marvel Comics have had competing characters with similar powers or names (The Atom vs Ant-Man, Wonder Woman vs Wonder Man, Swamp Thing vs Man-Thing, etc.). Marvel fans all know Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange now, but that mystical character s introduction in 1963 actually came 23 years after DC Comics similarly named sorcerer, Doctor Fate. Doctor Fate was a founding member of the Justice Society of America, which is going to be introduced to the big screen soon in Dwayne Johnson s Black Adam, and this week, we learned that Doctor Fate s human alter ego Kent Nelson will be played by former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan. This makes Brosnan the second Bond to join a DC Comics project after Timothy Dalton, who plays the Chief in HBO s Doom Patrol. Brosnan s fellow JSA members will include Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Black Adam has faced a number of filming delays in the last few years (most recently due to COVID-19, obviously), but Dwayne Johnson posted an update this week that filming is expected to start in three weeks.3. MAGICAL DC COMCS SUPERHERO ZATANNA IS ALSO A PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (Photo by JA/Everett Collection)Doctor Fate wasn t the only magical DC Comics superhero to make the news this week. Just last week, an investor day image revealed that Warner Bros. was developing a Zatanna movie, and this week, the project was officially confirmed in a proper fashion, with a surprising choice that probably caught many people pleasantly off guard. Director and screenwriter Emerald Fennel (who s also known as an actress for her role as Camilla Parker-Bowles on Netflix s The Crown) currently has three Academy Award nominations (for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Picture) for her feature film directorial debut Promising Young Woman (Certified Fresh at 90%). Studios often swoop in on Oscar winners after the fact, but the particularly astute ones make these moves before the awards are handed out, and that s what Warner Bros. and Bad Robot have done by hiring Emerald Fennell to adapt their magical superhero movie Zatanna. First introduced in the comics in 1964, Zatanna is a long-time member of the Justice League of America who casts spells by saying what she wants to happen backwards (for example, Stnap Ruoy Pord Namtab! might be embarassing for Bruce Wayne), but Zatanna has never been depicted in a live-action film. It s not yet known if Fennell will also direct Zatanna, or if she might even star as Zatanna or another supporting character.4. DAME HELEN MIRREN TO TAKE ON VILLAIN ROLE IN SHAZAM: FURY OF THE GODS (Photo by Elizabeth Goodenough/Everett Collection)One of the high points of Dame Helen Mirren s early film career was her portrayal of the evil sorceress Morgana Le Fay in Excalibur (Certified Fresh at 80%), and now, 40 years later, she has signed on to play another magical villain. In a somewhat unusual move, the role that Mirren will be playing in the upcoming sequel Shazam: Fury of the Gods (6/2/2023) does not appear to be directly lifted from any of the 70 years of actual Shazam comic books. Instead, the villain Hespera appears to be a new creation, although she is described as being the daughter of Atlas, who is the first A of the anagram Shazam that gives Billy Batson his powers (the stamina of Atlas, specifically). It s not yet known if Atlas or any of the other characters in the anagram will also appear in the sequel. Something that is curious about Hespera being described as the main villain in Shazam: Fury of the Gods, however, is that it differs from the teaser at the end of Shazam!, which suggested that the next major villain would be Mister Mind.5. SALLY HAWKINS AND STEVE COOGAN TO FIND THE LOST KING (Photo by Priscilla Grant/Everett Collection)One of the most surprising history-based news stories of the last ten years was arguably the 2012 discovery of the bones of King Richard III under a parking lot in England. Now, the true story of how that all went down is being adapted as a comedy drama called The Lost King, to be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Stephen Frears (High Fidelity, Philomena). This week, Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water) signed on to play the historian who discovered the remains, with Steve Coogan playing her husband (and also co-writing the screenplay). Hawkins is also currently filming the Princess Diana biopic Spencer, starring Kristen Stewart, in which she is expected to be portraying a fictional or composite character (although most of the cast are indeed based on real people).6. SETH ROGEN TO PLAY STEVEN SPIELBERG S FAVORITE UNCLE (Photo by Elizabeth Goodenough/Everett Collection)Just two weeks ago, we first learned that Steven Spielberg will soon be directing an unusually biographical film about his life as a child and teenager in Arizona falling in love with the art of filmmaking. Michelle Williams was announced right away as being cast as Spielberg s mother, and this week, another member of the director s movie family has also been cast. Seth Rogen, who previously starred alongside Williams in Take This Waltz (Certified Fresh at 79%), has been cast to play Spielberg s favorite uncle in the currently untitled drama. Spielberg and his casting agents are currently searching for the young actors to play the young Spielberg (who won t be named Steven in the movie) and his friends in 1950s and 1960s Arizona. The drama is expected to start filming on location this summer and be finished in time for a late 2022 release (about a year after Spielberg s West Side Story remake on 12/10/2021).7. JAKE GYLLENHAAL TO STAR IN AFGHANISTAN WAR TRUE STORY COMBAT CONTROL (Photo by Anne Marie Fox/TM & ©Copyright Fox Searchlight)Although Netflix seems to have received more media attention over the last few years as a major winner of film auctions, according to Deadline, MGM has taken over that position since the beginning of 2021, and the old school studio continued that aggressive stance this week by winning another hotly sought film rights package. MGM is in final talks to acquire the rights to Combat Control, a war drama to be based on the true story of Medal of Honor recipient John Chapman of the United States Air Force. Jake Gyllenhaal will star as Chapman, who received a posthumous Medal of Honor for his role as a combat controller in Afghanistan in 2002, with the film focusing on the 15 years it took for Chapman s commendation to be upgraded to the Medal of Honor, making him the first airman to receive the medal since the Vietnam War.8. TV SHOW BEWITCHED TO GET A SECOND NOSE WIGGLE (Photo by Everett Collection)Hollywood has been regularly adapting old TV shows into movies since the 1980s (Dragnet was an early example). The results haven t always been great, though, such as the 2005 movie Bewitched (Rotten at 24%), starring Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman, based on the popular 1960s show. What s less common is for a studio to actually make a second attempt at adapting such a show after the first movie has disappointing returns, but that is exactly what Sony Pictures is doing with Bewitched. Sony Pictures has hired TV showrunners Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett (MacGyver, 12 Monkeys) to start working on a new Bewitched feature film screenplay. Rather than the meta approach of the Will Ferrell movie, this Bewitched is expected to be a closer adaptation of the original show s premise of a witch who settles into suburban domesticity after falling in love with a non-magical advertising executive. Between Zatanna at Warner Bros. and Bewitched at Sony, one has to guess that WandaVision (Fresh at 91%) is having an immediate influence.9. RAMPAGE DIRECTOR TO ADAPT ANOTHER VIDEO GAME WITH SNIPER ELITE(Photo by James Atoa/Everett Collection)Ghost of Tsushima was not the only video game adaptation to make the news this week. Brad Peyton, who has directed Dwayne Johnson three times in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (Rotten at 45%), San Andreas (Rotten at 49%) and the old school arcade game movie Rampage (Rotten at 51%), signed on for another video game adaptation this week. That project will be adapted from the World War II third-person shooter Sniper Elite, a franchise whose latest entry, a supernatural spin-off sequel called Zombie Army 4: Dead War, released just last year. The Sniper Elite movie will tell the story of Allied sniper Karl Fairburne, who engages in a cat-and-mouse chase through the streets of London at the height of the Blitz during World War II, as he tries to save British Prime Minister Winston Churchill from a Nazi assassin. Sniper Elite is being produced by one of the Ubisoft executives who was also behind the Assassin s Creed (Rotten at 18%) movie starring Michael Fassbender. On an Apple device? Quibi will also offer Movies in Chapters from some of the biggest names in entertainment (among them Fifty States of Fright from Sam Raimi) and a collection of unscripted series and documentaries, including Chrissy s Court starring Chrissy Teigen. Quibi aims to launch 175 shows in its first year. When Fresh Daily debuts, it will look very different than originally envisioned – at least for the next little while. The show, a co-production between Rotten Tomatoes and the NBCU Digital Lab, was set to shoot at Universal on a newly-built, fan-inspired set, but with COVID-19 impacting film and TV production across the world, the team pivoted to working remotely and shooting Maude and Andre at home. They ll be on their couches bingeing through the crisis, just like the rest of us.The duo, who regularly produce their own video content for about 1.5 million fans across their YouTube and social channels, are taking the work-from-home challenge in stride. Luckily, Andre and I are both content creators so the notion of setting up, filming, and uploading content from home is something we regularly do for our respective channels, Garrett says. We had the Fresh Daily space set up in a couple of days, and we re one-person teaming up the whole production! We ve been working hard at Rotten Tomatoes during this time when so many people are stuck home to help them find great things to watch to keep them and their families entertained, Rotten Tomatoes Editor-in-Chief Joel Meares says. Fresh Daily arrives at just the right time to be an extension of these efforts. You can tune in every day for just a few minutes and quickly learn if a show everyone s talking about is right for you, discover a few hidden gems, and be entertained in the process. Fresh Daily premieres April 6. New episodes drop weekdays at 6.30am ET / 3.30am PT. Quibi is offering a 90-day free trial to those who sign up between now and April 20.

8.29.2 7月喜迎tended editions: 20 hours 30 minutes; Theatrical cuts: 17 hours and 12 minutes.Starts with: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012) Ends with: The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) Best way to watch: Some would argue the second trilogy – though the first by story chronology – from Peter Jackson was an unnecessary and bloated cash grab that should be avoided at all costs, but we have a better suggestion. We suggest you begin with the LOTR animated film from 1978, which will give you all the events of the films in a quicker and to-the-point format. Then, if you are compelled to see the best of The Hobbit live-action series, we would say check out the standard edition of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, which is the best of the three. We would also suggest you try to watch the extended editions of the original live-action LOTR series – they are more than worth it for the extra content. This recommendation would make for a shorter, 16-hour watch, which could be broken up easily over two days. Where to watch: FandangoNOW (Discount Bundle), Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, GooglePlay. The Two Towers and The Lord of The Rings: The Return of the King standard editions are streaming on Netflix.Marvel Cinematic UniverseWhat is it: The 23-film saga that chronicles the epic adventures of various superheroes, based on the comics first distributed by Marvel and its subsidiaries. How many hours: 50 hours and 3 minutes.Starts with: Iron Man (2008) Ends with: Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) Best way to watch: Not surprising for a franchise that grossed over billion at the global box office, but Marvel Studios 23-film, decade-long opus is quite watchable as is. Some folks would have argued in 2010 that Avengers: The Age of Ultron is a skippable mess, but as we detail here, it is essential viewing to truly appreciate the first four phases of the saga that culminated with Avengers: Endgame. Sorry for those looking for a shortcut, but watching it all is worth it. Viewing all 23 movies straight through, without breaks, however, is not the way to do it.Instead, we suggest you go in release order and complete each day as follows: day one after Avengers; day two after Ant-man; day three after Black Panther; and finish on day four with Spider-Man: Far From Home. If you ve previously watched the MCU and are looking to watch it in a new way, use our guide here to watch in chronological order based on the events of each film. If the thought of 50 hours of superheroes is still too intimidating for you, but you want to understand enough to get by, watch these character introduction films (Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy) and these team-up films (Civil War, Winter Soldier, Avengers, Ultron, Infinity War, Endgame). Once you have finished that, check out our Oral Histories of the MCU, in which the directors, producer, and casting director who worked on the epic franchise break down all the behind-the-scene secrets.Where to watch: FandangoNOW, Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, GooglePlay. All of the films save The Incredible Hulk and the Spider-Man films are streaming on Disney+. The Avengers: Infinity War and The Avengers: Endgame are streaming on Netflix; and Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, and Thor are streaming on Amazon Prime.Die Hard FranchiseWhat is it: Follow John McClane, a police detective who seems to be a magnet for maniacal criminals no matter which city/structure he is in, and proves to be a tough man to kill. How many hours: 10 hours and 14 minutes.Starts with: Die Hard (1988) Ends with: A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) Best way to watch: The original Die Hard is so beloved that many argue it s the greatest action film ever made – or maybe the greatest Christmas movie, but that is a debate for another day. The film and its follow-ups have a loyal fanbase, and though the second and third entries pale in comparison to the first, we still say they re worth a watch. The fourth film, Live Free or Die Hard, is a true return to form and, frankly, it s where you should stop unless you are a true completist. The series most recent film, A Good Day to Die Hard, is the only PG-13 entry on the list, and without McClane s iconic Yippee-ki-yay, motherf ker, there s really no point pushing play.Where to watch: FandangoNOW (Discounted Bundle), Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, GooglePlay. Die Hard and Die Hard with a Vengeance are streaming now on CinemaxGo; Live Free or Die Hard is streaming on the Starz app.The Fast Furious FranchiseWhat is it: Follow Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his crew, which he calls his family, as they shift from illegal street-racing criminals to heist experts and then finally emerge as a new crime-fighting unit that tackles the world of espionage. How many hours: 15 hours and 57 mins. Starts with: The Fast and the Furious (2001) Ends with: Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019) Best way to watch: As Dom and everyone in the Fast franchise says – quite often – this is about family. So, if you re looking for something to skip, it s hard to imagine who you d want to kick out one of the family – though, let s be honest, 2 Fast 2 Furious is definitely not Dad s favorite. Without Vin Diesel, that entry can barely call itself a Fast and Furious movie, and the 2009 series soft reboot, Fast Furious, is not much better and an easy call to skip, as well. We would caution against skipping third entry Toyko Drift; its charms are significantly more than its 37% Tomatometer score would suggest (something we wax about in our book Rotten Movies We Love). Not to spoil anything, but when we finally get Fast 9 in 2021, you ll need to have seen Tokyo Drift to understand everything fully – check out #JusticeForHan after you finish the series, and you will understand. Where to watch: FandangoNOW, Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, GooglePlay. Hobbs Shaw and Fast Five are streaming on HBOnow; Fast 6 is streaming on FXnow.Rocky FranchiseWhat is it: Follow Philly underdog boxer-turned-champion, Rocky Balboa, as he battles various fighters in the ring, as well as his own issues outside of it, and later trains the next generation of champions. How many hours: 14 hours and 55 minutes. Starts with: Rocky (1976) Ends with: Creed II (2018)Best way to watch: This one s real simple: trust us and skip Rocky V. Just pretend it didn t happen; we re pretty sure Sylvester Stallone did. Where to watch: FandangoNOW (Discount Bundle), Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, GooglePlay. Rocky Balboa is streaming on the Starz app; Creed II is streaming on Hulu and Amazon.Harry Potter / Wizarding World FranchiseWhat is it: The franchise based on JK Rowling s phenomenally successful novels follows the adventures of Harry Potter, an orphan-turned-famed wizard, the evil He Who Must Not Be Named, and the Wizarding World they inhabit. How many hours: 24 hours and 6 minutes. Starts with: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) Ends with: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) Best way to watch: As this is a British series, allow us to put this as politely as possible: Fantastic Beasts is simply not quite on form. The first entry is saved by Eddie Redmayne and mesmerizing magical effects; the second entry is the first and only Rotten flick from the Wizarding World and very skippable at this stage. The original seven films are near perfect, but if you wanted to pass over The Chamber of Secrets you wouldn t miss much – you won t be too confused later in the series. (Though if watching as a family, this is one the kids tend to like.) If you follow that suggestion, you can finish the entire series in one day.Where to watch: FandangoNOW (Discount Bundle), Amazon, iTunes, Vudu, GooglePlay. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is streaming on HBONow.X-Men Franchise

(Photo by Parisa Taghizadeh / Focus Features)How is Thomasin McKenzie’s performance?“Enchanting.” David Rooney, Hollywood Reporter“She is so delightful and versatile that there doesn’t appear to be anything that she can’t do.” Nicholas Barber, IndieWire“Thomasin McKenzie absolutely brings it all as the main lead…stretching a whole new set of acting muscles here.” Ben Rolph, Discussing Film“McKenzie makes the most of this full blown starring role, well out of whack with what we have seen her do to date, and brings it home.” Pete Hammond, Deadline Hollywood Daily“[Her] performance rivals and maybe exceeds Natalie Portman’s in Black Swan (similar notes of vulnerability and steel are required).” David Katz, The Film Stage“Never one to let an underwritten character thwart her best efforts, [her] sweetly open, porous, persistently worry-etched features couldn’t be more ideally suited to Eloise’s ingenuous, new-in-town outlook.” Guy Lodge, Variety“Somehow underused despite being in every scene” Jessica Kiang, The PlaylistWhat about Anya Taylor-Joy?“Magnificent…Taylor-Joy is perfect for her role. She oozes charisma and star quality.” Geoffrey Macnab, Independent (UK)“Earthy and ethereal.” Robbie Collin, Daily Telegraph (UK)“Taylor-Joy steals her scenes — as she tends to — and she supercharges the movie with an ethereal out-of-time-ness that’s borderline ghostly.” Philip de Semlyen, Time Out“Anya Taylor-Joy gets to sizzle and smolder in the way that has made her one of the most exciting rising stars in the business.” Marshall Shaffer, Slashfilm“[She is] cleverly underused in screen time.” David Katz, The Film Stage“Anya Taylor-Joy, a brilliant actress and notable clothes person, is dazzling.” Glenn Kenny, RogerEbert.comIs this also a proper posthumous showcase for Dame Diana Rigg?“Last Night in Soho makes for a genuinely fitting epitaph for Rigg, who died after the shoot wrapped. 1. DANIEL CRAIG S CHARACTER WILL RETURN IN KNIVES OUT SEQUEL (Photo by Claire Folger/©Lionsgate)Daniel Craig s run as James Bond will end in a few months with the release of No Time to Die (4/10/2020). The relative success (0 million worldwide from a million budget) of the recent whodunit mystery Knives Out (Certified Fresh at 97%), however, is about to give Craig a new franchise to replace his old one. Writer-director Rian Johnson is reportedly already working on a Knives Out sequel that will feature Craig s detective Benoit Blanc investigating a new case, implying that most of the cast will also be new. Lionsgate has not yet given the Knives Out sequel a greenlight, but Rian Johnson is reportedly hoping to start filming within the next year, presumably for a release in late 2021 or 2022.2. NICHOLAS HOULT JOINS MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7 AS THE FRANCHISE S NEXT VILLAIN (Photo by Elizabeth Goodenough/Everett Collection)Mission: Impossible Fallout (Certifed Fresh at 97%), the sixth film in the franchise, introduced a new adversary for Tom Cruise s Ethan Hunt in the form of a CIA assassin played by Henry Cavill, who in 2018 was coming off his run as Superman. For Mission: Impossible 7, Paramount Pictures is turning to another recently finished franchise for its next villain. Nicholas Hoult, who played Beast in recent X-Men movies, has signed on to join the Mission: Impossible franchise with the seventh film, which is currently scheduled for release on July 23, 2021 (one week after Space Jam 2 and Tom Holland s third solo Spider-Man movie). Other new cast members will include Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff (both of the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and, also announced this week, Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire). Director Christopher McQuarrie said of Shea Whigham s character, You ll never see him coming, which is leading some to speculate that he may be playing magician Rollin Hand, who was played by Martin Landau on the original 1960s TV series.3. RYAN REYNOLDS CONFIRMS DEADPOOL 3 IS IN THE WORKS AT MARVEL STUDIOS (Photo by Joe Lederer/TM & ©Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation)Although the 20th Century Fox version of the X-Men franchise ended last year with Dark Phoenix, there is one franchise that appears to be making the transition from Fox to Marvel Studios relatively smoothly. Talking this week to the hosts of TV s Live with Kelly and Ryan, Ryan Reynolds confirmed that Deadpool 3 is now in active development at Marvel Studios, with the whole team (preumably screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick) now working on it. It is not clear how Deadpool will transition from one cinematic reality (the world of Fox s X-Men movies) to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Deadpool s ability to break the fourth wall may be all the explanation the screenwriters need. Deadpool (Certified Fresh at 85%) and Deadool 2 (Certified Fresh at 84%) came out just two years apart from each other (2016 and 2018), but with no release date for Deadpool 3 yet in 2021 or 2022, the gap between 2 and 3 will be presumably be much longer.4. TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET JOINS MUSICAL BIOPIC BANDWAGON AS BOB DYLAN (Photo by Jason Smith/Everett Collection)Following the 3 million earned in 2018 by Bohemian Rhapsody and the accolades this year given to Rocketman, Hollywood is certainly on the hunt for other musical biopics it can greenlight next. Jennifer Hudson is currently filming the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect (10/9/2020) and Baz Luhrmann is preparing to film an Elvis Presley biopic starring Austin Butler (Tex from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) as Elvis and Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker. We can now add Bob Dylan to the list, as Timothée Chalamet (Call Me By Your Name, Little Women) this week joined an untitled Bob Dylan project (formerly called Going Electric). Not to be confused with the 2007 Bob Dylan film I m Not There (which featured several people as Dylan), this new film will be directed by James Mangold, who previously directed the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line and most recently 2019 s Ford v. Ferrari, also based on a true story. As the working title Going Electric suggests, this new Bob Dylan film will focus on the period in his life when he switched from the acoustic guitar of a folk singer to the electric guitar of a rock star. Timothée Chalamet will next be seen in Wes Anderson s The French Dispatch and as Paul Atreides in the remake of Dune (12/18/2020).
线上娱乐下载 Clint Eastwood has had some fun in recent years poking holes in the tough-guy persona that characterized much of his early career, and he continues that trend in Cry Macho. Eastwood stars as Mike Milo, an aging former rodeo star who is tasked by an ex-boss to retrieve read: kidnap his estranged son from his abusive mother in Mexico City and escort him back to Texas. When Mike arrives, he learns there s more to the story than he was led to believe, and he and young Rafo (Eduardo Minett) along with Rafo s fighting rooster Macho set out on a road trip that will change both their lives. Set in the late 1970s and based on the 1975 novel of the same name by the late N. Richard Nash, who also penned the first version of the script, Cry Macho sees Eastwood reuniting with writer Nick Schenk, and the film appropriately feels like a cross between two of their former projects, namely Gran Torino and The Mule. Critics are split on the film, however; some say the writing and the acting feel a little uncharacteristically clumsy, especially in the early going, while others say if you re willing to stick it out, the film improves in its second half. You won t likely find anything particularly fresh or inventive about the story or the storytelling, but there are some quiet, thoughtful moments peppered throughout the film, and Eastwood proves he can still throw a punch at the ripe old age of 91. You can catch this one in theaters or on HBO Max.
Johnson is both executive producer and star of the series, appearing as a future version of himself (a 2032 presidential candidate). The show takes place during four different time periods, with Adrian Groulx starring as 10-year-old Dwayne Johnson, Bradley Constant as a 15-year-old version, and Uli Latukefu as the 18-year-old Rock. Young Rock also portrays of famous early wrestlers, including Andre the Giant, Randy Savage, Iron Sheik, and Junkyard Dog, which is not unexpected, since Johnson grew up wrestling royalty as the son of WWE champ Rocky Johnson, who is played by Joseph Lee Anderson in the series. It was truly a love letter to professional wrestling, which is a business that I grew up in and a business that I ve loved all my life and learned some of my most valuable, while very unorthodox, lessons, Johnson said. It was a pleasure to be able to highlight and showcase these men who were, in essence, my superheroes — they didn t wear capes when I was a little boy. SNL Star Kenan Thompson Is Multitasking With Sitcom KenanKenan, the new sitcom starring longest-tenured Saturday Night Live cast member Kenan Thompson, underwent two full creative overhauls before its current iteration. But when it premieres on February 16 on NBC, the show will follow a widowed actor–turned–morning show host as he raises his two daughters with the help of his father-in-law (played by Don Johnson) and brother (SNL castmate Chris Redd). The lengthy development of the series, Thompson said, allowed the team time to figure out how to put a new twist on the ‘uplifting father figure’ kind of show.”Thompson and Redd are filming the sitcom concurrently with SNL. While cast members previously would have to leave the late-night comedy sketch series or film in the summertime if they wanted to pursue other creative pursuits, the TV world (and specifically the SNL universe) is a little more flexible than it used to be, they said.“I think we’re living in a different time,” Thompson said. “There was a time when people would leave the show to go into their career. But I’m of a different kind of thinking. I think you can do both as long as you can, then if the departure comes in a natural way then so be it. Redd also said he wasn t thinking of the show as some kind of SNL exit strategy. Said the actor, I just see it as an opportunity to create. Hunting for Extraterrestrial Debris Gives Upcoming Sci-fi Drama a New Case Each WeekThe title of NBC s new sci-fi drama Debris, premiering March 1, is literal — each week, two intelligence agents hunt extremely powerful shards of an alien spaceship that bestow fantastical powers on their possessors, from walking through walls to manipulating the weather. The weekly component will be complemented by a larger mystery — sound familiar? The series comes from former Fringe showrunner and Almost Human creator J.H. Wyman. You can have a case of the week, but you can also have meaningful character development and the mythological rollout over the course of at least this first season, Wyman told reporters in the show s virtual session.A CIA agent played by Jonathan Tucker and an MI-6 agent played by Riann Steele are the investigators at the center of the series. The duo work together as a part of the U.S.-U.K. collaborative agency Orbital to recover as many pieces as possible before others can use them for nefarious purposes. And while each new UFO scrap they discover will provide a weekly through-line for the series, it ll also show the unique capabilities of the alien matter and how it affects the world, Tucker said.On an Apple device?
